Blimey, those last 30 or so posts went quickly! Here's a lovely shiny new thread.

I know no other adults who play it either (& my DCs stopped playing years ago and make fun of me for continuing to play!)!

Is there anyway to trade Pokémon without meeting in real life? I need to do the trades for the challenges but obviously can't!

Go was the thing that made me go out walking again honestly, I forgot about it for a few years then got back on again last year with my new phone. Think I'm close to a full year since starting now!
@JacquelineCarlyle I think you have to be a certain distance from each other (something really shitty like 100 metres max I wanna say) to trade, which sucks. All the friends I have are either in Germany or the US

I'm a little bit addicted, although I watched a YouTube video on tips and tricks and it seemed so difficult to actually be a really good player!

Also, if anyone else I'm friends with is reading this - I understand the whole thing about trying to level up the friendship at particular times, but don't know how you know if you're e.g. 1 day away from that versus 3 days away, so I apologise if I do it too soon (happy to follow any instructions about when to send/open gifts versus when not to though!)

There's a bit of a furore (massive understatement) in my local FB group about the disparity in cost for the lure pack in the online shop. Some can buy them for 350 coins, others are having to cough up up to 650. We've come to the conclusion that players who hardly play are being encouraged to do so whilst those of us who play most days are being penalised. Personally i think it's a bit shitty of Niantic to discriminate like this, but have decided not to buy any coins unless I absolutely have to. Balls to them.

@DoctorTwo my lure module box is 500 - I assumed it would be the same cost for everyone, crazy that it's not! I play everyday too although haven't traded a Pokémon nor do I battle the team leaders.

Mine is 400. I do go on everyday for the catch streak and field research but I don't go out everyday so that may be why mine is "cheaper" (400 is still a lot of coins tho). I'm not that bothered however bc I already have 6 lures anyway :P

I just wanted to say that I got a gotcha evolve for Xmas and it's amazing 🤩 there is nobody in real life I can tell! Only my DH and DC know about my new found love of Pokémon go and today I evolved a Tyranitar! I've joined a few groups on Facebook and I'm loving my new little hobby which also gets me out of the house when I might not normally, and walking to places where I might usually take the car!
I joined the discord group but it moves a bit fast and I don't really get it, also don't think I will level up much more as I don't do raids (I lose on my own) and I don't have anybody nearby to trade.
But anyway thanks to people in this group adding me as friends I'm really enjoying myself

@itsanothernamechangeforme do persevere with discord, it’s a cracking group of players. Some of the channels hurtle along at times, but there’s lots of help, information and friendliness there - and it’s excellent for raiding. It’s really added to my enjoyment of the game.

You need to do the flight mode trick.

Pop your phone in flight mode
Make the throw
If it's great or above, flick the phone off flight mode
If it's not then shut the app down, close it and restart.
Try again...
