Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

I'm going to do a lucky egg tomorrow morning at 10.30am (uk). sorry it's not much notice. I can trigger higher level friends with @mrsladybird @gilly2505 @namechange @amazinggrace @waddimiss @hayjolou @thedragonsrule and boyfriend of @help1234. If you want to coordinegg post on here and I will prioritise you as I wont have room in my bag to trigger everyone.

@DoctorTwo Stardust just seems to go that way with me, I earn enough to power up one mon and then it goes. The exception was when I was very thorough with GBL for a week or so. My baby alt account does/did well for stardust for a fair while as she only had a few things to power up.

@JuniLoolaPalooza What do you think of new attacks? I got a couple and wished I hadn't as I didn't see any advantage. I suppose it depends if you know which attacks' best for the particular opponent you're facing?

Who else is loving that there are more Machops around and now they can evolve with less candies through trades? The alts and I are growing some little blue armies! It helps to have imaginary friends (alts) to trade with.

@DoctorTwo I should start to do better for stardust soon when more things are maxed out so I'll have less things to spend it on. Maybe one day I'll power up the 676 CP machamp

@NoMoreDickheads players from the local group used to be amazed at the amount of stardust I have until I tell them I only power up critters I'm going to use in raids or battles, and nothing under 90%iv gets powered up. Therefore any 'Mon whose defence stats are higher than attack are left as caught. When I explain these reasons they understand. They might not agree, and often they don't, but I'm not fussed, I play the game for me, not them.

We all play the game as individuals (unless we're at a 4 or 5 * raid), as far as I'm concerned your way of playing is as valid as mine, and so is every other player on the planet.

@JuniLoolaPalooza I do a lot of catching. :o I also burn through Star Pieces which is why I love double stardust events.

@tumpy im at work today so cant do 1030 but if i sent you a gift as normal would you save it for 1030 and do it that way?

@DoctorTwo I just don't have the stardust, otherwise I would if you see what I mean. I think I learned how to play tactically as I went on, also as you advance things max out so you then have less to spend.

I've heard other experienced players say, as you said, that they feel anxious if their stardust drops below a certain limit.

As the machops only cost 25 candies to evolve and no stardust on evolution, and at the mo those candies are turning up, I don't mind evolving them if they don't have a massive IV, within reason.

Thing is, in the beginning you have to power up the 80% Pokémon, or you have nothing to work with. My main account doesn't keep much under 96%. My second account will wack a good 2* Pokémon all the way up because then I have a level 30 Pokémon to use against Rockets or solo raiding. The longer I play on this account, and the better it gets overall, my level 30 but 78% Pokémon will end up going for trade. In the early stages of the game CP counts for far more than IV. If you catch a max weather boosted Pokémon and evolve it you can use it straight away. A 96% level 15 egg hatch will just sit there unused until you have enough candies to power it up. I think that's about 128 candies?
I also got quite comfortably to level 7 in the GoBattle League with 2 x 2 star, and 1 x 1 star Pokémon because they were powered up and have the right movesets.

@BaronessBomburst With my 2nd acct I powered up not astounding stuff at first, just so he had something to use in a fight. The next account was lucky with GBL encounters and research reward encounters (maybe throwback challenge?) So fairly early on she got a Metagross and a Mewtwo.

Am I wrong or is Battle League harder at the mo, because all the hardcore players have also been reset to Rank 1?

In terms of adding attacks, I did it to give myself more options. I have a hundo rhyperior with surf, and added earthquake/ground type move anyway!) to give myself more options. I find with battle league, whatever I choose, the opposition had something that mine are weak against so adding an attack, in my theory, gives me a better chance.

They've all got shiny rayquaza pikachus already.

Also have any of your areas got new pokestops. Round my house we have got two new pokestops and a gym! So good it means I can spin a pokestop from my house

I'm working my way through the hoenn tasks while DD is having a lie in and it's just occurred to me that you could work on multiple buddies at a time because you an swap 20 times per day. So you can swap, earn 3 hearts from berries, photo and tickling then switch to another.

@HappyPunky Does it make much difference if you get the buddy hearts? It was good when there was the thing on where it was easier to get the buddy excited.

I was walking a MewTwo recently until I realized how lame it was! So now moved to walking 1k mons.

Have also got the phone swings but not really got into them yet.
