Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

Friendship level it brings you stuff and helps catch them so I thought I might use up berries to get a few up to a higher level when I'm walking them

I raced though the timed research and now I'm stuck waiting for a ghost pokemon on number 7

Well I got a shiny carvanha... But 1 hour of incense and none of them were 3 star and I have my own 'rule' of just evolving 3 stars!!!
Debating whether to waste another hour as I still have another incense in my bag...

A banette raid will get you a ghost type too.

I've been keeping an eye on the gyms near me to use a remote pass on a raid.
I'm hoping they keep the remote passes on because it's much nicer than loitering around.

Hi, I have just discovered Pokemon Go and am following this thread with lots of interest as I feel a bit clueless about battles and things. I've done a couple that popped up at pokestops and have managed to win but think it was more luck than judgement! The people were "grunts" and had been stealing from the pokestops. Any advice much appreciated!

Wongy and all Pokémon friends, thank you I have gone upto Level 31 thanks for all the xp from gift exchanging. Especially for the heads up about putting luck eggs on. I had thought it would take me until May 21 to get to Level 40. I think I will do it by Oct in this rate. I am still struggling to meet uni work deadlines which are due end of the month but after that I will add more friends.

Hi Bella - I started in October and can still remember how complicated it seemed at the time - and yet now it's like a second language to me and the kids.
Those battles you were doing were with Team Rocket at a pokestops. Other battles you can do are at a gym, a special battle at a gym called a raid, battles with friends and battles with random people in the battle league.
At the start I searched you tube and there are quite a few people doing easy to understand clips.
Also can ask specific stuff here and there's usually someone that knows...

Thanks Jillandhersprite, that's all very helpful and I'll have a look at YouTube. My main frustration is using up loads of balls and pokemon escaping when I finally catch it!
