Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

Hi everyone hope it's okay if I join . I live in a small town and the gyms around me people use for Pokémon but never do the legendary raids (I really wanna do one lol) and I can't get out the house as my little boy is shielded so I really really can't wait for the invite raid passes to come out!!

I haven’t had a balloon yet, do I just have to zoom out?

@Fiddlersgreen I could see a circular shadow then zoomed out and saw it. I've seen two more since but the leader not grunts. Some people have seen grunts

The balloons are launched at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, and 18:00. If you long into the game after these times a shadow will appear after about a minute. If you are already playing the shadow will appear with a flash of lightning.

If you change the view the balloon will appear. If you change location it will follow you.
If you switch accounts, or don't claim it within 30 minutes (approx) it will disappear and you won't get another one until the next launch.
You get a random grunt, unless you have a rocket radar, or a Giovanni radar in which case you'll get a rocket boss or Giovanni.
If you're really unlucky you'll get Arlo in all four balloons. It happened to my neighbour. No-one ever wants Arlo.

This is all based on what's been shared in our raid group chat. Might not be 100% accurate.
There's also lots of jokes about wanting Sierra.

I've just sent a couple of friend requests from my account (I'm ajead4) and when I swap to my son's accout I'll try to remember to send some more (alexandethan999 I think) as I haven't really done the friend thing up to now! Our local group met up for the first time tonight and did two five star raids. On the second raid, I caught my first LEGENDARY! I am so excited!

You don't have to log in at those times though. If you log in at 11:50am you can still battle the 6am balloon, and then the 12:00 midday balloon will appear for you ten minutes later.

@bellabelly Jessie and James (along with Meowth) are regular Team Rocket characters in the cartoons. They’re always trying to capture Pikachu and cause trouble for the main characters. They’re pretty funny... I’m looking forward to battling them!

Who was it on here recently who was desperate for a Sinnoh Stone? Just got one as a reward for battling the Mystic Team Leader - worth a try? I do team leader battles to keep my buddy happy - it's CP is too low to use in proper battles.

Makes a change from pink doesn't it?
One gym became a cat house one week. People only put in Persians, Meowths, Peruglys, Liepards etc. It happened quite spontaneously but became a running joke as the player who lived next door became known as The Pimp.
The local WhatsApp raid group is open to all but the associated chat group is strictly over 18s!

Is it just me, or is the special incense a bit pointless? It's just a basic Pokemon, nothing to write home about?

I think (when Kath sends you a gift in an hour or so) SV is now ready to level up with Ray and Kath at once. I suppose if on Tuesday we get twice the XP for evolving, we could do an egg then sometime.

I got to battle Jessie & James this morning on my main account. You get the Meowth balloon and then battle each of them in turn (you get to select a new party for the second battle).

I'm saving my shadow Pokemon without purifying as that's one of the battle skill challenges coming up.
