Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

Put an incense on and have been catching for an hour and no excellent :-(
I think trying too hard - usually I do an excellent randomly about every week. Will leave it for today...
Sorry to MeepMeep - I got the battle request and said yes but then my phone went funny and crashed... Hope you've managed to do it with someone... I will be back online later this evening - need to go charge my phone now!
For my efforts I did get a shiny shellder - not sure whether to keep him or evolve up for a blue cloyster!

My only legendary ones are from the weekly boxes but when we can invite friends to raids hopefully we will get one then.

Is there a task to catch a legendary?

Nooooo, magikarp evolving did not get me a legendary Pokémon 😭.

If anyone wants to do a battle with me then I'd love that (and the rare candy they give as I now need to evolve a Feebas) - I'm NoobTree

Seems to be quite random whether you get candies or not. I've had none sometimes when I have won but then got some for losing.

What's the difference between a dark vs normal meowth

If its the one you rescued from a team rocket at a pokestop you can purify it and it takes less candy and stardust to evolve or power up but that's it really. Team rocket are the bad guys.
There are also a couple of different versions of meowth - just different ones to collect I think.

I think the top meowth came out of an egg during an event last month - on the right is what it evolves into

Then there is normal meowth that evolves I to Persian

No idea what the purple meowth is, but it goes into purple Persian

then I have my shiny meowth too

The grey/black furred one is a Galarian Meowth. The purple one is an Alolan Meowth.

I am just going through all my Pokémon as was running low on storage and I have got quite a few with enough candies to evolve. Before I do, does anyone know if there is a Special Task to evolve a Swablu? If there is, then I will wait - 400 candies is too many to do again!

@bellabelly what difference does the poffin make?

In case you didn't know, you will get photobombed 5 times by flying Pikachu when you take photos. That's 5 flying pikachus guaranteed per day while the event is on.

The poffin lasts for ages longer than berries and you get twice as many candies for walking with your buddy. The downside is that you have to spend 100 pokecoins to get one from the shop. I never get any from spinning pokestops

@bellabelly I haven't seen a swablu task and evolved mine but I wouldn't want to say no for definite.

If you have loads to evolve though use a lucky egg and save transferring a few rats, pidgeys, whismurs etc that you get loads of and evolve them too it will take your score right up.
