Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

My best aggron is 98% too. I maxed him and he's fab! In fact, I really ought to give him a better name than SmackEd.

For those of you with the 15 battles research task, have you tried doing training battles with the team leaders to see if it counts towards the tasks? The option is right at the bottom of the battle menu.

I had the research task “battle with your buddy” so I tried him out in a training battle and the task was completed.

Might be worth a try!

No, unfortunately it specifies that you have to battle another trainer. But it was a good suggestion. You really never know with Niantic......

I finally caught a Ditto! So happy!

For those of you with the 15 battles research task, have you tried doing training battles with the team leaders to see if it counts towards the tasks?

@ignatiusjreillyI didn't know Battle League was down lol but Juni just just said it's back up. Battling the randoms definitely counts as 'Battle another trainer' and you also get loads of stardust and stuff for it.

Struggling to find a dragon Pokemon, any ideas?

Now battle league is back up I am thinking there is no need for the battle hour on Thursday? I've just done 10, taking a break and will do the last 5 and hopefully move on!
Fiddler's - keep a lookout for Bagon 1 and alolan exeguttor 2 raids - they both have dragon typing...

@Fiddlersgreen when I needed to catch a dragon, someone advised that they often spawn near rivers. I did find a couple of dratini near a local stream but by that point I had already caught a Bagon in a one star raid.

I caught a Dratini yesterday, probably the first one I've seen this year, so they're about.

@Fiddlersgreen Alolan exeggutors are in 2* raids and they're a dragon type.

Otherwise, if you have others you can raid with, there's always zekrom!

I just did the battles and got on to the next tasks... After catching a zekrom during raid hour. Bah! They are jumpy buggers though, will have to find a raid tomo.

How's everyone enjoying the Bug Out event? I caught a Scyther in a three star raid. V pleased as I need to evolve one for the task.

They seem harder to catch. I only played for a bit but a lot of them took loads of throws or ran away.

I didn't have a nincada til today though so that was good and I'm also after a female combee as they seem rare and they're the ones that evolve.

I've got 2 scythers from field research tasks (it's the one that tells you to hatch an egg.) So I'm happy as I also need to evolve one.

Apart from that I'm not a huge fan of the bugs - so haven't been catching too many

I have a massive pile of surskit candy but still haven't caught a 3*... I want a pretty masquerain...
Off to get a chippy dinner later and the chip shop is in an area with lots of pokestops so fingers crossed I find one there...
Also I need a dragon but suspect with this event I'm unlikely to find a Bagon or exeguttor raid...
