Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

@jillandhersprite I'm stuck on the 15 battles I was hoping to do them in the league battles but that's down.

I've 1 real life Pokemon friend she's a work colleague and I would feel awkward asking her to battle 15 times
If the league doesn't come back I think I'll just suck up the awkwardness.

Hi @ignatiusjreilly it seems we are indeed close neighours! I hope I haven't blown my cover, as I haven't admitted to anyone in real life that I play this game (or that I post on mn)! Is anyone else a closet pogoer?

I'm doing three battles a day against myself (I have 2 acc's) on any day that I can borrow DS phone. I won't do more than three as you only get rewards for the first three battles. Plus it's a bit boring battling yourself.

The stats on the solrock will never change, only the CP if you power it up. But you'll never do anything with a solrock except look at it, or maybe put it in a gym, so pick a favourite and let the professor have the rest.

@HighBrows you can challenge any trainer you're great friends with to an online battle. I'm Gertrude. If you want we could fix a time on Wednesday?
In fact maybe we should fix an MN time for online battling like we do with coordinegging.

I like the idea of online battles against MNers! I will check if I am great friends with anyone yet! Thanks for the advice about Solrock, Baroness. I will keep one and chuck the rest.

@highbrows - whats your pogo name? if we are friends happy to do them as I did a raid today and have now moved onto the same tasks! (I'm DaisyTRex on pogo... if i see the battle request from any of my friends then will try to do them unless a child is screaming!!! )

Can I ask a question about one of my research tasks - I need to defeat Cliff and Arlo - did Sierra ages ago before lockdown. I never see them though - it's always just grunts. I used to have a rocket radar but I think it got accidentally deleted when the kids were trying to make space in my bag. Is that why I don't see them and need to recollect a radar - or are they just appearing really rarely at the moment - it feels like I haven't seen any leader since lockdown started... Thanks x

When I defeated Sierra recently,my Rocket Radar disappeared. You have to fight another six grunts to get a new one.

Some days, I have to do one or two Team Rocket battles,some days I don't see any. It's quite random .I lost to Cliff today and didn't have time to have multiple goes. Hopefully he'll be in the same spot until I can beat him (once I have googled what Pokémon to use!)

I always seem to find Arlo, whom I nrver want as I only do Sierra for the beldum candies.

I’ve just hatched my 15th egg finally and am so annoyed the battle league is down. I wanted to get past this one quickly as the eggs and raids have taken me so long. I’m nicking dh’s phone tomorrow and just battling his character. He doesn’t play anymore but I made him keep the app on his phone in case of trade tasks etc!

I have a suggestion for folks like me that are trying to do the trainer battle research. Shall we arrange an hour when lots of us will be online and available for battles? A bit like raid hour which I think is 6pm on Wednesdays...
So maybe we could say 6pm this Thursday for an hour??? What do people think - or maybe a better time/date - maybe it should be at the same time as raid hour?

Raid hour can be quite busy for me so Thursday 6pm is good. Not spotlight hour either. Worth a try this week anyway!

Any Giovanni tips? All the websites say start with a machamp against the persian but I have a maxed out hundo machamp that just...dies. :-(

Wurzelperry is due to level up with Raykn1946 soon as is Dixiedee and Findiddlydo (IDK whether they're on here but think Wurzel is.) Ray mightn't have an egg for a while, hopefully the weekend, so can you wait for me?

@HighBrows I get what you mean but you can do it like one puts their hardest mon in and the other puts in weedles or whatever, then it doesn't take long at all. She may also have the challenge, in which case she'll be happy to have someone to do it with.

The group fighting sounds fun but my alts will have had Groundon vs Weedle fights with each other by then.

@NoMoreDickheads it's a faff contacting her we're all working from home but I'll do it. I have sent her pictures of my recent shinies which isn't a euphemism

Ps I've opened my maximum allowance of gifts today but will open the rest tomorrow.

I'll be free to battle Wednesday morning and probably on Thursday.
@JuniLoolaPalooza Use an aggron with smackdown and stone edge. It won't die on you. You might even get a move off on the next Pokémon too.
