Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

Any one else have trouble getting into the game today?
Mine is just staying on the loading screen for ages and I can’t get any further

@fiddlersgreen Do you have an older phone? If so, the game may not work on there anymore. It's become a common thing on older phones. I had a spare phone that I used to play on but is now useless because it no longer supports the app.

I couldn't get on today between 10 & 11, it's working fine now.

Thanks everyone. I'm catching everything but so far no luck! Will keep going. It's addictive and managing to get my 5 year old out for walks when he'd rather normally watch telly.

There were some server issues this morning so a lot of players had issues. See to be sorted now though.

Galarian Farfetch'd is in the game too, I've caught a few from home. Oddly, they've had different CPs/IVs for me & the DCs even though we're all level 40.

And I've just got a shiny Timburr. My first shiny in ages apart from Seedot CD!

I have been out catching Farfetch'ds all afternoon. And also hatched a shiny Shinx. I want to evolve it but scared it will lose its shininess! Can anyone reassure me that I am being daft?

Here's the shiny Shinx family, Bella. I've kept mine as is tbh as I prefer it to Shiny Luxray.

Can anyone explain raids to me? Are they only certain times? How do you find out when they are on?

You tap the button on the bottom right that shows you where nearby pokemon are.
There is another tab for raids.

I think the one by my house has 2 or 3 raids a day.

Raids are an opportunity to battle a Pokémon and if you win you get the chance to try and catch it.
They range from 1 to 5 which denotes the level of difficulty.
Depending on your own level and the level of the raid you can guess if it's worth bothering. So I am level 34 and I can win 1 and 2 raids on my own, have won 1 3 raid but usually lose those.
The beauty is that you can join forces with other players during a raid. So I have caught some rare/legendary Pokémon in 5* raids because I joined a group of other players battling at the same time.
Before lockdown you had to physically be at a gym location to take part in a raid but now you can buy remote raid passes in the shop and can go to any that you can see happening on your map.
I think it's one free raid pass a day, but you can also buy premium passes ifyou want to do more.
As there's no messaging in the game it can be hard to find people to raid with but search Facebook and you might have a local group that you can join and coordinate attending raids. My group is quiet but it's meant I have got some Pokémon that otherwise I've no hope of catching!
But have a go at a 1* raid - it's fun!

Great thanks. Unfortunately nothing comes up on my nearby list, nearest gym isn’t close so that’s probably why. Perks of being rural! Will have to go and investigate. If I go to the gym will it tell me when the next raid is happening?

If a raid is imminent there will be an egg over the gym with a countdown. The raid boss is then available for 45 mins. Pink eggs are 1-2, yellow 3g4 and silver stripes are 5*. If you go into the gym then tap the egg you'll see what tier it is.

Done 2 zekrom raids today, caught one and its crap. They are so jumpy!
Loving the galar far-fetched, tho I was shocked when I saw it! Pinap them when you catch them, rumours of an evolve being released in due course.

I'm loving the far-fetched too.
My league battle isn't working the last two days, anyone else having a problem with this? I just want to do my 15 trainer battles.

You've caught a 'shiny' - the regular one is purple...
They don't do anything special - just lots of people like to keep them as they are rare.
(A bit like during events you might get versions of a Pokémon wearing a special hat - I have a pile of pikachus wearing random hats)

@jillandhersprite I have loads of hat wearing Pikachus and Raichus. I love them. Have at least one of every type that I have caught so far. They are the only Pokemon I will stockpile!

Hi team, I am up for co-ordinegging if people who have stuff due to happen with my accts wish to open the gifts they have or have by the day, or I'll open if I have the gift. Community Day on Sat sounds like a plan as there'll be weedles to evolve for XP too.
