Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

Has anyone paid for this special throwback challenge? I'm a bit confused as to what the rewards are? I've worked out that there is a difference if you completed all 4 previous challenges but I cant work out of it is worth paying £8 for?! I did complete all 4 challenges on my ginliker account so I have a new research challenge to complete now anyway (the one with 15 of everything).

I think the 15 of everything is the challenge.
You get it for free if you completed the four previous ones, or can buy a ticket if you didn't.
You can also buy a ticket if you have it for free and complete it twice, but then instead of a being awarded a Pokémon encounter you'll just get candies, so you can't get the Pokémon twice. The clothing item at the end will be stardust, as you don't need that twice either.
At least that's how I've understood it. I may be wrong as it's very confusing!

I don't know anyone who has bought it as everyone I've spoken to had completed all four challenges. The consensus in my raid group is that 8 euro for candies and stardust is not a good deal.

It's on professor willow's section of the challenges, the weekly ones were on the new section. Those challenges seem long term.

I paid for the challenge. I got over excited. It's going to take forever to complete.

@bellababy had you completed the 4 weekly challenges recently? (The sinnoh, kanto etc. ones?)

@BaronessBomburst thanks for the tops I beat Giovanni tiday with an Aggron and 2 Rhyperiors. So happy to have finally completed that challenge I was sick looking at it.

This new research is going to take forever!
I can hatch 15 eggs in a few days of walking but I think it will take weeks to win 15 raids... I tried a 3 star today that I was passing on my evening walk and failed - so really only should bother with 1 and 2 stars and the hope that I see one happening while playing and it's realistic to go to it...
I hope there's no time limit to complete this one...

@jillandhersprite some 3* are harder than others. But there's apps you can use to give you an idea of which Pokémon to use and your chance of winning. Pokegenie is my favourite and I use it on my main account. Then I use CalcyIV for my second team. Just scan in your best Pokémon!

@HighBrows aggrons are underated! I never see them recommended against the Persian but I use mine for every Giovanni battle now.

Hi all, I keep dropping off the threads, especially now that you can't roam freely. I am doing my best to send gifts though!

We finally got GO Pikachu on switch. My question is, how do we get that stupid meltan mystery box? I googled but all it says is that I need to go to Fuschia City and speak to someone there.

I've realised that I haven't added any new pokemon friends for a while. Would anyone like to add me?

I'm not part of any groups except for here so hopefully we'll be able to add each other to raids. I was a bit daunted by the 15 raids but this new function will make it easier.

I am definitely up for remote raiding! Having to win 15 raids on my own would take forever. I was wondering why they didn't just say take part in 15, rather than actually winning. I guess that is what the update was all about!

PS does anyone know the max number of gifts you can open in a day?

Ha! We've met a few like that! DS was only 9 when he hit level 40. We'd turn up to raids where we weren't known, get patronised, and then kick their arses.
Fortunately my local group is nothing like that. They're friendly, even to all the flash in the pan kids who come and go.

Everything I have maxed out is a bit rubbish against them. I've tried a dozen times.

@dillite - you have to catch and play and go to various towns etc before you get to Fuchia Town. If you google the best route to take, you will get a play by play guide that will make sure you don’t miss anything as you go through the game. It took me about a month to get there - but I don’t play everyday. My advise would be to create a player to go to Fuchsia Town ASAP and stay there do you can keep opening the box but create another player to complete the game.
