Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

Is anyone else only receiving 5 gifts from their buddy? It only started happening to me yesterday despite them bringing 10 back. I send the gifts when I get them so I don't have any in my inventory before collecting them?

@tumpymummy I don't lose the walking distance when I switch buddies now. I think they changed it when they introduced all the buddy activities. I always switch to gyrados and I've left him on 0.9 for next time I need a candy for a task.

Thanks for the code - just used up most of my balls putting on an incense to try and catch a shiny bronzor so good to replenish them...
I did get a shiny bronzor - a low point 1 star weakling!!! Now he's evolved he's a massive 29 points
I desperately need some Pokémon to come back from gyms with some coins so I can buy more storage as I love my shinies and event specials but most of them have rubbish stats!!!

I got a shiny bronzer too and it was also crap cp, 56! I haven’t evolved it yet

I only got one shiny tonight, was hoping for two so I could evolve....next time.

Is there a Bastiodon raid you could do?
Or maybe try a magnetic lure module?

I got my steel type with a Klink raid the other day.

No shiny bronzor for me. Sad!
I did get a reshiram today and it's pretty good, so that's pleasing.

Just posted the same - where are they? This task will end before I can finish it.

If you have a magnetic lure to use at a pokestop, try that. I used one yesterday and a Steel type appeared instantly. Thanks to Baroness for suggesting, I hadn't really taken any notice of lures before, despite having a few in my items. I still need to catch a Ditto might try another lure later because none are visiting my garden!

Thanks @BaronessBomburst! I had a magnetic lure and got a Diglett after 5 mins. Never even thought of using it so thank you!

@tisonlymeagain I followed Baronesses advice and got one finally.

Now I need an electric Pokemon and of course Pikachu is nowhere to be found!

@TheGriffle Oh I'll see if I've got one. Pikachu is everywhere at the moment...not for long I expect 🙄

The research 'Take a snapshot of an electric type Pokémon' will give you a voltorb. It could be shiny too.
Pikachu will appear again anyway. We've still got until tomorrow lunchtime.

Gah, had to install an update which my crappy old phone could not cope with and have had to reinstall Pokemon Go from scratch (was stored on SD card, long story) and now after a mornings faffing, it won't let me log in as a returning player. Have contacted Support but it says they are dealing with high volumes of support requests, so I guess I am not the only one struggling. I might just have to start again as a new player but it'll be so annoying to lose all my progress! Grrrrrr.

@tisonlymeagain you could also do a klink raid for the steel pokemon

As if by magic I opened the game and a Magnemite was there. But now I need an ice one....

Lots of snovers around these parts which is a bit incongruous in this weather.
