Shiny new thread.

Our local group had our first socially distant raid t'other day, there were 11 in the lobby and only 3 of us were physically at the gym. The bantz on the message group afterwards was funny though after I introduced them to a new word.

That's the negative side of lockdown, many players are too worried to get within 10m of another. There are some friends I haven't seen in months, and just a few I have seen to have a socially distant chat. Still, mustn't grumble.

I just keep getting lots of seedots. No shinies! I need to go on a long walk later to visit all the Pokestops round here. Hoping to find a Ditto while I am out as have never seen one...

My main problem is that running Pokemon Go really drains the battery on my phone. I was halfway through a Team Rocket battle when my phone just turned itself off! So annoying. Not sure I can justify getting a better phone just to play pokemon!!! (DH already thinks I'm getting addicted... 😂)

@bellabelly I got a new battery put in my old phone but it was really bad and didn't last long. The new one was quite expensive but lasted a few months. Before I got the new battery I had a couple of power banks and used a long cord on them so it stayed in my bag.

I got a klink from a raid and I've switched to gyrados to get a quick buddy candy. I feel really sorry for him his mouth looks so uncomfortable

Had a good community day today, got 11 shinies in total.

I cant believe how many shinies I got, 24 in total. That has to be a record.
Don't want to see another Seedot for a long time.

I caught a lot of seedots and drifloon so evolved all of them.

I also (for the first time ever!) placed some Pokémon in a gym. I'm not entirely sure what this does, or how long they will stay there but it's exciting for me.

Also, what is the fuss about shiney Pokémon?

It's a collector thing. Plus some are more rare than others. Shiny shuckle, for example is much rarer than any pokemon that's had a community day.

I found some Misdreavus on my evening walk - that completed my ghost Pokémon requirement.

Is anyone else getting loads of Sawk appearing? All with 1500 + CP

No, we're overrun with hippos. Apparently Niantic had lots of complaints and spawned extra in.
Speaking of which, did anyone find that their buddy didn't bring them 50 pokéballs every half hour during the CD? A complaint to Niantic could net you 300 free balls - they're giving them out without checking.

NoobTree was it cloudy in-game? Sawk are a fighting type so there would be extra spawns and they would be weather boosted, which explains the CP.

TrophyCat, I have put a couple of pokemons in gyms, it is very exciting. One has returned home already and earned fifty coins. I had to revive him and restore HP so he'd obviously had a tough battle!

I need to make three more friends as a task, if anyone hasn't already added me, I would be very grateful! I am debstonmon and my trainer number is 8154 3886 9100.

I also need to get better at battling the Team Rocket people. I lost twice yesterday and the lady grunt was most annoying! :(

Does anyone know, if I swap my buddy will I actually lose all my distance walked. I'm walking timburr atm and am only on 3 out of 5km so want to swap to something shorter for the earn a candy walking with yr buddy task. But I dont want to lose my hard earned 3km!

I've been playing about 3 years now; I started with the kids but they've now lost interest. I mainly play when I'm hanging around waiting for them whilst they do their many activities each week.
It took me 2.5yrs to finally reach level 40, now I just play for collecting rather than XP! I'm quite liking all the playing from home extras they've introduced since lockdown and all the recent challenges.
