I got bored of that really quickly. I'm not really bothering with increasing friendship with my buddy either

I forget to do that too, not enough incentive. If by looking after your buddy they gained extra candy that would be worth it.

I got Klink up high enough that it batted the pokeball back at the pokemon I was trying to catch. I loved that touch. However, have had to swap out for different buddies as I need candy to evolve, but will put that Klink back as my standby when I don't need to walk something else.
