I don’t think I’m doing the buddy right, it’s behaving like a demented tamagotchi with an insatiable appetite, it’s after being fed every two hours? It’s all loved-up but can I put it away? it’s odd with a hollow belly. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t feed it and it’ll go away, you still get your candy as normal for walking

I like the new buddy thing, but like @Betty I keep thinking it's a new pokemon spawned next to me! I cant work out how to 'play' with it though! I click on 'play' and can feed it berries, take a photo etc but cant work out how you play?

Yep - because I'm not so good or get out much to pokestops I am always short on balls and berries - I am not wasting loads of them on keeping the buddy visible all the time. But I think I will have to do it once a day as the kids like it! I've also realised you can feed it with the nanab berries which I don't use as much as the razz or pinap berries...

Has anyone else’s search feature stopped working properly? Normally in the search bar I type 0* and it brings up all the Pokemon with no star rating, same for 1 star etc but it’s not doing it now.

It's a known glitch @TheGriffle with the latest update. Apparently they're working on it.

How do you battle with it? I’ve battled in a few gyms with my buddy in the map but nothing happens on the buddy menu, am I doing something wrong?

You pick it as one to battle with. I've been using mine to battle against the team leaders and getting a heart for it.

They're in little squares at the bottom and if you tap on one you get the screen of pokemon and you choose one to swap then click done. It's the same for gym battles and team rocket battles

@YogaDrone maybe you need to check your movesets? I found Cliff yesterday and took him out with two Pokémon, neither of which died. (I switched the first one out)
He came with meowth, sandshrew, tyranitar.
I used Counter/ Power-up Punch Lucario (84% lvl 27) to take out meowth and burn both shields.
Then switched to Counter /Dynamic Punch Machamp (98% lvl 38) to finish off the sandshrew and take down the tyranitar.
You have to tap like mad though, not like tapping for a raid. You can charge the moves more quickly in a battle.

Anyone else noticed that Vizirons positioning changed totally between Wednesday and Thursday?
It was quite a distance away during the raid hour. More than half the group didn't catch him, with balls falling short.
Raided again on Thursday and warned DS that he'd have to lob the balls. Got to the catch screen and he's now right under your nose. DS thought I was mad!

I've taken your advice Baroness and I have beaten two grunts - both with Porygon, Porygon & Snorlax. I used Dragonite (hurricane), Machamp (Dynamic punch) and Charizard (Overheat) and beat them both times quite comfortably. I haven't attempted a raid boss yet though. Grunts didn't used to have such high CP pokemon!

I guess I just need to read up more about the move sets and which work best on which pokemon.

Anyone does any Lugia or Ho-Oh raids? My husband got a shiny Lugia. I don’t have much luck during legendary raids

I have had no luck whatsoever in getting any hearts for battling. It's driving me nuts and making it impossible to get my buddies excited.

Please help - what would be the best Christmas gift for somebody obsessed with pokemon go? A gotcha watch? Something else?

@ PickAChew can you train your buddy with Blanche, Candela or Spark? Seems to work.

Don’t know about presents, maybe a map of local walks in her area?! Gift pack with small flask, protein bar, gloves to go walking?!?

I think I would like some fingerless gloves or maybe a t-shirt like the ones I wear in the game.
The kids would love anything Pokémon themed - the cards, a keyring, a baseball Pikachu or Eevee hat, cuddly toy, the annual!

DS has been lecturing me about the follies of attempting legendary Pokemon raids. Sigh
