Confusedbeetle Oh yes, McDonalds has been partnered with Pokemon Go in Japan since the game launched. All McDonalds are either gyms or PokeStops, and they have had special events where all McDonalds gyms have had a certain Pokemon (one particular one was Mewtwo at 3pm every day for a period of time).

It’s not just McDonalds though. A lot of PokeStops are sponsored stops. I think in the US Sprint is a major partner.

To be honest, I really couldn’t care less. I don’t see it as an issue at all.

SneakyGremlins Reports from users around the world suggest viewing distance is now connected to latitude.

Players in Singapore, Hong Kong etc. have not had any difference in map visibility despite updating. So it would appear if you are close the equator, your distance has not changed.

I think there is still some sort of glitch with mine though as my DCs can see more than I can. A stop will not show until spinning distance.

Bugger! You're all right. The gyms the other side of the river have disappeared again. I thought it was because of the snow; the whole map has a fuzzy look to ii when it snows.
On a more positive note, I've upgraded my neat, little 'chuck it to 9 o'clock' curve balls to the big, oval, loopy ones they seem to do in all the YouTube videos. I'm getting far more greats, and pokes staying in with one regular ball.

JuniLoolaPalooza It’s only McDonalds in Japan that Niantic is sponsored with, so all Japanese McDonalds are either gyms or PokeStops.

I noticed when I was just caught a Rattata, I got 200XP collector bonus as well as 200XP for catching it.

What is the collector bonus? I've never noticed it before.

Or maybe your 300th.
You get a collecter bonus every time you hit 100 of the same Pokémon.
You can check in the Pokédex.
I'm going for 1,000 shelder as they spawn throughout the day on the dining room radiator. It'll take a while.

Mankey is like hens teeth around here. I’ve only ever found one and that was 30 miles away on holiday.

I’ve been walking it to get my primeape but it’s been very slow going. Nice to see they are going to spawn more.

Hurrah! I got a Lugia in my 7 day field research thing, so now I have them all. Took sooo many balls to catch though, must have been apx 30. No newbies here either. They sometimes pop up on my nearby, but always at night so I can't go get them, especially as they aren't particularly 'nearby.

Anyone been affected by the latest update which now means those with older Android phones can't play. Children often play on their parents old phones and now it won't load on our Android 4.4.2 phone. (My own phone is fine I'm pleased to say but DH's old account is no longer playable )
