With the upcoming Swinub community day, honouring the year of the pig, it had to be done.

Anyone been affected by the latest update which now means those with older Android phones can't play. Children often play on their parents old phones and now it won't load on our Android 4.4.2 phone. (My own phone is fine I'm pleased to say but DH's old account is no longer playable )

GreenShadow The thing is, while it does suck, apps have to constantly update their security features, and there comes a point where old phones and old operating systems are too old to be secured safely enough, and so they are no longer supported and stop working.

Also, it isn’t a children’s game. It’s not geared towards children at all, but parents can allow those 13+ to have a supervised account.

The app is only 9+ Wailmer. I haven’t been affected by the update but I don’t think DC4’s phone has long. He won’t be happy

WitchSharkadder Either/or really; the app isn’t for children and it isn’t aimed at them. It’s just a bonus for parents to allow their children to play along with them.

You can probably still update the android on the old phones. So they work again.

DS has an activity thing at a school a couple of miles away. I gave him my phone and asked him to spin pokestops whilst I drove, even going through the town to maximise my chances.
I left the house with about 10 pineapps and 4 great balls.
I'm now sat in a stinky gym changing room, no pokestops in the vicinity, looking at 1 pineapp, and 2 red pokeballs.
There are also 2 new torchics in my Pokébox. Torchics are DS bete noir. They never stay in for him.
I was expecting to have at least 40 balls!

On reflection, I may serve sprouts for dinner........

We waded through slush to get to a craniodos, at the weekend. I had to remind DS1, several times, to hold onto his phone and not rest it on his (admittedly huge) fingers.

A miltank was kind enough to spawn next door, this afternoon, which was useful for ds2's relative newbie account.

I’m actually really lucky I live rather rural we only have 3 pokestops so I didn’t think Pokemon go cared that much but over the last 2 years Iv caught the majority in my bedroom lol. Got 3 miltanks earlier.

I like the glameow but am disappointed with the purugly.

JoantheVampireSlayer Yes there is; you don’t need to own the game or even a switch. You can link to a friend’s copy of Let’s Go and get a mystery box that way.
