What does alolan mean?

Soub, Alola is the Gen 7 region. Some Kanto Pokemon have Alolan versions (Meowth, Grimer, Rattata, Vulpix etc) that Niantic made available via 7k eggs earlier this year. You can only get 7k eggs from gifts.

Soubriquet You can tell if a Pokemon is shiny as it will have stars floating across its screen and also when you’re scrolling through your Pokemon they have three diamonds/stars in the top left corner

If a Pokemon has neither of those, it’s not shiny.

@TalullahBetty it so is. Some community days I look like the sodding Pied Piper of Hamelin! Only with a phone instead of a flute. It's fantastic wandering around with a dozen or so kids all asking questions at the same time and having to sit down and get them to ask in turn. It's an absolute privilege and of course I love it. These kids are the future of the game and their questions need to be taken seriously.

We don’t have any kids in our raid group. There are a few parents of course, with kids of various ages, but none are actually interested in the game.

I’d say during community days we only ever have one or two children above five, if that, and they spend the entire time wanting to go home

It was fine. DS triggered the gift and knew what was going on.

Oh, the double candy has gone! I didn't realise we only had it for 4 days. I thought we had it for the duration of the event, and that it was the double catch stardust just starting today. I had read it as though it was as well as not instead of. That's a shame I would have transferred more Pokemon if I'd realised.

DS and I drew in a PvP battle!
Didn't even know that was possible. We both got 'good effort' and stardust.
We have such a laugh though. We make crazy rules about which Pokémon we'll both use, such as they must be green, or only a first evolution.

kiftgirl - sorry I went ultra with you by mistake. My bad.

I did six raids yesterday, all solo. So only won the level 2, which was a Dewgong. I came across an alolan raichu on a late night shop dash but it was too hard of course. I so want one! I have a field research to win a level 3 or higher raid so DP is going to be roped into one tomorrow whether he likes it or not!

The group raids sound so nice. I may join our central group on community day but I'll be at the mercy of whether DD will come along or not (age 4)
