I've had loads of gifts. Been selective about which ones I keep, this week, since I've been out and about a lot.

1. Pretty or iconic buildings and public art.
   
2. Things which say something about the local area.
   
3. The amusing and/or rude.
   
4. The truly shit, such as our fugly bus station.
   

I've had trouble raiding daily, over the holidays, so far, particularly with DS1 rarely playing. Had the win a level 3 or higher raid in my line up for a week. First for stardust and then I replaced it with an encounter. Finally got that 7 dratini candy, this evening, after spotting a flare on raid at the gym down the road, in partly cloudy weather. I lack the correct legendaries and my rock smash trannies wouldn't have been up to it without weather boost, since the weather was wet here on that community day and I haven't powered them all up yet, but my back up Gary landed a hydropump just in time to take it down before timing out.

Just over 20 minutes until raikou for me.

I span a lot of pokestops yesterday and the only new type pokemon to come out of it was a Lanturn from one of the "hatch an egg" tasks (weirdly the other hatch an egg task got me an Exeggcute like normal) - I was disappointed not to get one of the other tasks to catch something more interesting! I tend to just discard tasks that get you anything but a pokemon encounter. I'll try again today but my. Bag is full!

MrsJamin That’s not weird; both Lanturn and Exeggcute are the current rewards for the Hatch an Egg task.

Ah OK. Anyone else feel a bit aimless after getting mew? The special research was something else to aim for and now I don't have that goal.
I also need to find more friends I actually see so I can trade, I've only done it once.

MrsJamin No, I got Mew way back in April and I think the majority of players did then too. It took me 10 days and I felt that was too long as I was tied up with work

I remember the excitement though. You just have to make your own goals. With all my dexes as complete as possible, I have made my current goal getting gold on all gyms in my town. I currently have 10/18

Wailmer I do find your posts quite belittling, I have to say. Perhaps you think the majority of players did it in April but that's your perception, perhaps you only speak to very high use players.

For what it's worth it took me forever to do Mew purely because there's almost no ghost types here so was stuck on that for ages.

10 days to get a Mew! It took me weeks. I'm still enjoying the field tasks, catching and trading. I like the fact that you can play at any pace. I rarely raid as there doesn't seem to be many players in my town. Taking down a raid boss on my own is impossible unless it's a single player raid.

MrsJamin I don’t mean to be belittling so I apologise if you feel that way! I think the majority of players did it a few months ago because this forum is the only place I’ve heard of anyone still doing Mew bar one or two people that attended Go Fest to test if you could do them side by side.

I don't really know anyone in real life or any of the Pokémon places I frequent (bar here) that is still on it, even the more casual players.

So yeah, that’s why I said majority of players; not out of a sense of belittlement or anything

With raids, all level one and level two raids are soloable, and level three raids should be with the right Pokémon and the right movesets too

I'm sure the bods at Pokemon HQ take the micky out of us. Since getting the Mew, I've been knee deep in Ditto and Ghost Pokemon. Didn't see them for ages before that.

To be fair Wailmer, I also think a lot of people who did it quickly at the beginning benefitted from the raid pass glitch to get their ten raids. If it took you weeks to find a ditto (😡) then you missed out on that, then it's ten days to compete the raids challenge on its own if you're only using free passes.

I still don't have my Mew, and I play every day. I forget to raid - I mostly play on my way to or from somewhere so I don't necessarily have time to raid, and I don't prioritise it in the free time I do have.

If you struggle with any of the raids, just google the raid Pokémon and you’ll get good counters and movesets to use

It took me ages to get Mew. I'd just evolved a Gary before the task and then there kept being events which meant fewer ghosts and ditto. I don't spend real money on the game so the raids took me ages until I reality didn't need to win the raid!
There's still people on my Facebook group asking about ghost nests so we aren't last

Oh and I thought hatch 3 eggs was Chancey and it was Magmar. Bum!

We've been to almost every pokestop in town and no sign of the Jynx goal or new Pokémon thingy goal

It took me a few weeks to get Mew I think, it certainly meant I played more. I started during the Kanto event so I was able to get enough Magikarp candies to evolve by the time I got to that task. The raids took the longest.

I was lucky and managed to get 10 ghosts and Ditto on one Saturday in the city centre as there’s usually Gastleys spawning (and still is).

I was the same Tangelas. I had just evolved my Magikarp before that task came up, ditto took ages and no ghosts spawning nearby so that took ages too. I only started up properly again in June really. I got Mew a week ago I think.

For the first couple of weeks after Mew was released Ditto and Ghost spawns were increased, meaning if you completed the first four parts quickly (and they were easy parts that could be done in a matter of hours) then part five with ditto and ghost Pokémon was straightforward too.

Part six was easy for our group personally as we live in a water area so most of us already had several Gyarados plus lots of Magikarp candy (I have over 1000), and while there was a glitch for a few days to do with raids, completing ten raids anyway without the glitch is straightforward as even if you just use your free raid pass and do a one star every day for ten days, that’s complete then.

So when Celebi is released, I will power through the tasks as quickly as possible like last time as spawns will probably be increased again if certain (types of) Pokémon are needed.

A little bit pleased with myself that I've worked out a system for gifts. Have put the date I received a gift as a nickname then I don't lose track of who I 'owe' one to if I've opened them.
Will get around to everyone eventually! But not picking up many gifts at the moment.
