I caught a wild Blissey on the way home from work today, which made me a) very happy and b) the MVP of the day on our local raiding Facebook group, as players flooded out of the door after I sent out an urgent call to arms 😂

tired - congrats! I missed out on that one in the recent mini-event, got a shiny Plusle which is a bit rubbish.

I have the "make 3 excellent throws in a row" quest. I know it's a Larvitar and I have a few really good Ttars from the community day. I deleted it after a day of no luck only to pick up another at the next Pokestop I spun (in a different city). Still not optimistic.

Wow a wild Blissey! I've only ever got 2 Chancey one from each valentines event. Although I've got the hatch 3 eggs task which I think is one.
I miss the days of people stampeding for a pokemon.

PS sorry for lack of gifts everyone - have chicken pox so can't go contaminating people even for a Blissey!

I am attaching proof of said encounter. I had no idea it was so rare! Wasn't amazing IVs, but frankly I didn't really care as I was not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. The CCTV at the local Tesco will have hilarious footage of a bloke walking in, checking his phone and then pelting it back out the door. I'm surprised I didn't get stopped by security 😂

Congrats! Going by the shadow that was your first Blissey too? My local Discord has reported the odd Blissy/Gary/other rare Pokemon in the wild but sadly not when I've been in the area!

MeetMeInMontauk All final evolutions of Pokemon are extremely rare. Wild Chansey is a very rare Pokémon anyway, but to find a wild Blissey is almost like gold dust.

I also caught a Blissey a couple of weeks ago. Was absolutely over the moon. I've got an awesome Chansey (98) but it's going to take me a long time to walk that one.

I ran out of the office just over a year ago when a Snorlax shadow popped up
Also spent a fair bit of hols running after Relicanth. It's rare over there but not as rare as Blissey etc.

How do I make friends?

It’s beneficial for you to have friends in your area that you play and raid with regularly, so you get bonuses when raiding and trading.

However, if you don’t raid or know anyone that plays, several players on this thread have put up their friend codes so you can add them. Do be careful though that when sending gifts it will mark the location of where you got the gift from and it is more detailed than it was previously, so if you’re worried about location be careful

What are x-raids?

Ex-raids were introduced last October. They are exclusive raids and at the moment only contain Mewtwo; it is the only way to obtain Mewtwo and likely always will be as it is the most powerful and sought after Pokémon in all the Pokemon games.

You need an invitation to an ex-raid, and the only way to get one of those is to meet Niantic’s parameters. Only certain gyms are ex-raid gyms, and it’s taken raid groups a long time to figure out which ones in their local area are ex-raid eligible gyms.

If you’re part of a local raid group, you’ll need to ask them which gyms are ex-raid gyms.

The main requirement is that you have to complete a raid at an ex-raid eligible gym in the week prior to passes being given out, however it is never quite clear when this is. If you have a gold level gym badge on the ex-raid gym, you are more likely to be invited to an ex-raid, as are those players who have completed a lot of raids in the previous week.

Best advice: raid a lot, especially at ex-raid gyms.

(The most important thing to know about trading is that you can only trade with someone who you’re within 100m of, and the better friends you are, the cheaper the trade will be.)
