Some utter bastard in our local raid group traded a Shiny from yesterday's haul and ended up with a Lucky, Shiny Hundo Moltres.

As for me: 6/9 Raids, no Shiny and highest IV 91%. Would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed, but as I didn't even have Moltres prior to that, it's better than nothing. I've thoroughly rinsed my supply of premium passes now though, so I might at long last have to open my actual wallet to top them back up.

Btw, did anyone else have real trouble trying to actually catch yesterday? Moltres was like trying to tag an angry, flighty Zubat and a lot further back than it appeared. Even by the end, I didn't feel like I had the attack, movement pattern and distance down.

I did Meet! It was a right bitch to catch.

17 raids 4 shiny 5 normal 8 escaped

The drizzle made it hard to catch.

MeetMe I thought the same thing; at the beginning it was ok and then a few raids in it seemed to get further away and I was struggling to throw the balls far enough!
However, out of 11 raids I got 2 shinies, 2 93's, 3 91's and 1 ran away, so quite happy with that lot.
A couple of people in our group got shiny 100's, jammy gits!

I will have to make one on DH's phone so I can do the trade quest for Celebi. I don't know anyone who plays in real life.

Tallulah My DD managed to get to level 5 with 1-2 hours play, maybe a little longer to get to 10. Definitely more helpful that there's so many more new pokemon around to add to your dex than there was at the start of the game!

Probably best to start thinking about booking a trip out of the country until the shitstorm blows over, @SneakyGremlins (try and make it somewhere with a regional exclusive though, might as well kill two birds with one stone).

So once again Niantic is shitting all over the hardcore players who spent months of their lives trying to figure out the ex-raid system.

If a Pokemon is exclusive it should remain ex-raid or be taken out of circulation entirely.

Once again it feels very much like they’re pandering to the casuals (and while I’m not a casual player, I’m not even close to being the most hardcore player out there either).

There should be separate and better rewards for those hardcore players who dedicate so much to the game. You shouldn’t just be able to rock up and pick up a Mewtwo without putting the work in; it really is unacceptable.

I had assumed Mewtwo would become available, but thought it would be a research thing - possibly more like Mew and Celebi though than the 7 day thing perhaps.

This seems to make the exraids not worth it as you can just wait a bit for them. I don't have a Mewtwo btw, so whilst this is good potentially for me I can get whats point completely.

Was hoping for shiny Groudon or Gen 4. Don't need another Kanto event.

I can see why people will be annoyed and I'm torn. But the truth is I play everyday, I'm on this thread, my Facebook group, the Silph road etc but I don't have the time to join raid groups more than a couple of times a year. So even an event like this, or Moltres at the weekend, is still mostly inaccessible for me. You can't please everyone.

It’s not about pleasing everyone; thats impossible. It’s about not doing something that’s a slap in the face to hardcore players who dedicated literally months of their lives to figuring out the ex-raid system.

Mewtwo should never become available outside of ex-raids, otherwise what’s the point of the ex-raids in the first place?

Mewtwo is the most powerful and sought after Pokemon in the entirety of Pokemon history, and Niantic are just going to let it be available to everyone? Ridiculous.

And yes, we don’t need yet again another Kanto event either.

On the other hand, whattodo non casuals like you plus plenty of casuals (I hate that word is always used in such a sneery manner, tbh) lucky enough to have frequent access to an ex eligible gym or six all got mewtwo long before the rest of us and have a big, hefty head start.

Of course they have to attempt to please the masses - it's a business after all. But of course we're all entitled to how we feel. I can't see why others being able to get certain Pokémon should affect others. And those that spent months of their life figuring out the ex raid system I hope enjoyed doing it, and from what I can gather they shared the info with others who didn't / couldn't invest the same amount of time. I like that.

I agree. Most in my 'local' group are well happy about MewTwo, with just me and the 3 hardcore players objecting.

I wonder if, as Niantic set ArticUNO, ZapDOS and MolTRES as raid bosses for a week they will release a new bird called OwdiCUATRO. Just a thought...

The problem for Niantic is that gated exclusivity undermines their real goal of getting as many players onboard as possible. Make no mistake; this is a business, pure and simple, no matter how many community event days you dress it up with to try and make it seem like you are doing the lifelong fans a favour. Balancing the needs for playerbase expansion whilst satisfying existing users heavily invested in the game mechanics was always going to be a difficult task, but it has to be said that, even in light of that, Niantic are handling it poorly.

I'm with, contrary. There is no guarantee I will even get mewtwo from regular raids if I can't be in the right place at the right time because of other commitments.

I play daily, often for many hours, usually logging in several times a day, but that needs to fit in around my duties as a parent of 2 kids with significant SN and owner of a house in need of lots of tlc.

I couldn't be a hardcore player, even if I wanted to be. I find the constant digs at "casual" players quite tiresome. OK, so maybe I am. After all it's only a game and it's not going to enhance my life or those of my family any more deeply than providing me with an enjoyable distraction from the mundane and sometimes truly crap bits. That doesn't make me, or my play style, any worse (or better) than anyone else, though.

Well exactly, I couldn't give two hoots that other people are a higher level than me, or have thousands of raid passes, or whatever. I don't care about IV stats of my pokemon, or whatever they're called. There are lots of different ways to play, none are right and none are wrong. Some people want to walk as much as they can. Others want to fill the pokedex. Others want to battle in gyms, do raids, be part of a community.

Anyway, teenage DS hasn't played in months and I made him reinstall PokemonGo on his phone, he's level 15 so can trade me stuff if I need it.

I've stuck with the game for years, me and dd. Walked miles, travelled far. I live in a small community so never really manage the big raids. If I am lucky enough to snag Mewtwo then I think I deserve it. This game belongs to everyone. I am sure me having Mewtwo doesn't detract from other people.

I'm also delighted that Farfetch'd and Tauros will be in 7km eggs.
