I’ve got a question if anyone knows the answer please, I’ve had my bear in a gym since yesterday afternoon, checked him this morning and his heart was practically empty with 500ish left, got another message pop up to say he needed a berry so went back half an hour later and he’s back up to full strength with a full heart!

Does that just mean a few people have given him berries? Although I’d given him 10 and he’s only eaten 16 in total, he’s gone up to over 2000 in half an hour and I didn’t think 6 berries would manage that so wondered if there was another way someone else could have powered him up.

@Catspyjamazzzz Silver pinaps are probably the best, but rarest, currently available berry. They combine the double candy bonus of the standard pinap with the catch bonus of the golden razzberry. Save them for raid bosses (preferably Legendaries)!

@Kraggle Somebody will have fed your Mon a golden razzberry, which instantly refills it's health to full when on gym defense 😊

Ooh thank you MeetMe I didn’t know those berries did that. The whole team had been replenished thankfully so we can continue our rein. It’s also good to know next time I get some.

Dd and I (well me playing for dd because I'm a nice mum) got our great curveball Spinda task this morning. I got my Spinda but leaving dd to make her great curveball later after school.

I fed some berries into a gym this morning. Topped one up with raspberries and its health went up then popped a najab on and it went down again to where it started. Is that normal?

OhLookHeKickedTheBall Someone will have been fighting your Pokemon so the berry was cancelled out.

I find there is little point to feeding Pokemon razz/Nanab/pinap berries as it doesn’t increase their health that much; it would take a lot to make a difference and you can only feed 10 in a half hour period anyway.

So if I want to berry Pokemon, I always use a golden razz.

The best use for feeding berries other than golden razzes in gyms though is when you have a glut of berries and, rather than binning them, feed them to mons in gyms to convert them to XP, stardust & gym points.

Especially nanabs!!
