Depends what you call a ‘waste’ - if your chance to raid ‘properly’ comes once in a blue moon, and if your only chance to complete that particular task that week is to stop (safely!) by the side of the road for a few seconds on the way to nursery/work, go into the lobby then quit, I’d consider it a good use of a pass.

They don't have to be new friends for the task. You can just unfriend then add again. My DH and I just unfriended each other 3 times to complete that task!

Through the first set of tasks, stuck at evolve an evolved grass pokemon. well, I'm not but dd is and we work at the same pace.

Are there any new Pokémon about? I ah ent seen any shadows yet?

BouleBaker No. The only new Pokemon is Celebi, which can only be obtained by the special research quest.

They have released shiny versions of Natu, Pineco and Sunkern though

I’ve got through all the tasks, I’m just waiting to finish ‘catch a Pokemon for three days’. I don’t really appreciate a deliberate cap being put on how quickly I can work through the quest though.

@boulebaker this eve suits me fine too as I can then also include claiming the first set of special research tasks, only 1000xp each but every little helps. I need to take DD out to trampolining so can we say anytime after 9pm? When suits you?! (Don't shout at me if I've got the friend hearts wrong though and preempted this!)

Tumpy if you click onto the hearts it'll say 1 day left or similar. Took me a while to realise!

One of the later tasks is apparently spin a pokestop every day for 7 days so there's a further cap.

If the stage 5 spoilers are true, then I'm glad I haven't done my Umbreon and Espeon shiny evolving yet.

To be fair, when I was pregnant I had to stop playing (had HG sickness) and didn't play much for the first few months after DD was born but I am back at it now!!

Question, I noticed on some of the screenshots the Pokemon have a % in their name? What are these for?

The percentage will be an IV. I use a IV checking app (Pokegenie) to see how good my Pokemon are.

The later task where you have to trade is annoying. I'm not friends with anyone close enough so may have to get my dh to reactivate his account so I can do that one. It's a bit annoying.
I am glad this has started though as I was not playing as much now I am level 40.

I love that you've managed to get your DH playing with you Boule! Mine just makes fun of me for 'pokeying' as he puts it! I have thought about just putting the app on his phone so that I can use his if my battery runs out!! A marriage is about sharing, right?
