Because friendship and trading has just been launched and t'other thread is almost full!

I'm happy to be friends with whoever, The locations you share are stops where you have been, not your actual location at the specific time. And I am fine with that.

Also there are badges for both number of trades and distance of trades so having friends further afield is actually a positive :)

soupforbrains Friends further afield doesn’t mean anything if you never meet them in real life though, because they’ll only add to that badge if you trade with them (and you can only do it within 100m of each other).

Got some gifts today and also 2x 10k eggs which is unusual. So if I make friends with people here can I send them my gifts?

@WhatToDo yeah I processed that thought after I'd posted.

@NotARegularPenguin yes, you can send 1 gift per day to each friend. and they can do the same to you. by exchanging gifts you improve the friendship level which gives you both bonuses if you raid/battle together or reduced stardust fees when trading.

I play with my 8yo DS but we don’t know anybody who plays it in real life and I know he would love it if I got some friends on there. We are on level 33 but rarely do raids.

If u understand it correctly it's sharing the location of the pokestop you got the gift from. Not where you are now. So as long as you don't send the gift whilst stood at the pokestop it's not your real life location?

TangelasVine Yes that’s true, but if you live in a remote location or even a small town and you send from there, you could be easily recognisable so I think it’s important people know that.

With the trading distance badge is it the distance that the pokemon is from? I've got some Relicanth so hopeful that it is!

I tried to solo a Machamp raid today. I very nearly had him but I knew it was a gamble as I don't really have enough strong ones against machamp. I managed a level 3 raid solo before but I think that was gengar.

I just got a pogo plus. Loving it so far. It means my head isn't constantly buried in my phone and my kids are much happier!

Whattodo how do you see which small town though? I've received some gifts and it just says Christ Church or whatever and I cant click and see the location so unless you recognise the landmark e.g. I got a gift from UCLH hospital - then I can't work out where it is exactly.
Obviously each to their own with this. I'm just checking if I'm missing something.

Also I see the same names in gyms and on raids so I know most of the active user names in my town and a few in person just from chatting if we're both at a gym etc.
Again completely understand if people want to play solo but everyone I've met has been lovely so far.
