@ohb0llocks - at level 6 that’s fine as you’ll only get low IV things. Download an app like Pokegenie to calculate IVs.

Good time to start playing again as a double XP event is on for a couple of days! For hatches and catches.

Black rattata is the Alolan form which was released last week. It’s no different from the original one in terms of candies etc.

@WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue I think that VERY much depends on the gym dynamic in your area.

A couple of gyms round here wouldn't do enough. The Mystics hint in packs and take gyms down staggering their entry to the battles so that there isn't time for berrying.

Ohb0llocks For such a low level yeah, but once you get over Level 20 that’s not a good idea.

High CP does not mean it’s a good Pokémon; it’s all about the IVs. You can get low CP Pokemon with high IVs and high CP Pokemon with low IVs.

soupforbrains Even so, it takes 8 hours in a gym to get your coins for the day, 4 hours spread in 2 gyms isn’t that long at all.

Hopefully double xp will get me out of the slog of level 36 and into the slog of level 37. Extra annoying as my friend who finds it easier to join up with the masses for legendary raids has just got to level 38. We were on 35 together a few months ago

I wouldn't rush to max out a Snorlax, but there are times when a decent CP quality defender has its uses such as trying to level up a gym, particularly in an accessible spot or hold it for a raid (particularly ex-raids). The benefit to get past CP3000 is fairly low because of the rapid depreciation, but does make a well placed golden raspberry very nauseating for an attacker My strongest is around CP 2600?

On my usual local gyms, I tend to swerve on a gym well powered up with Blisseys and Snorlaxes as they often aren't worth the extra time to fight them down. I have got the pokemon to do it if I wish, but prefer to wait a few hours. We've got quite a nice community of regulars mainly Instinct and Mystic, and you know who's got the stock of golden raspberries and isn't afraid to serve them up at the critical moment.

Got a gym to gold today... Tailow is really bored after being there for 10 days! I'm astonished as I've had trouble holding it before. I think must of the locals must have levelled up and lost interest as it frequently changed teams last summer. It's not far out of the way, but not a drive by gym either. I'm glad I didn't put a strong one in!

Just over a million off level 39. Got stuff to do this week but am going to fit in the odd bit of grind with some of my lucky egg stash.

This is still my too gym and was my first gold. Visited it once or twice a day, 5 days a week for 3 months, as it's at the bus stop near ds2's school.

Even the one nearest my house is only halfway there, after living here for 30 weeks.
