Also hatched a rattata earlier. I’m out of incubators so if my one egg incubating is another rattata I will not be amused!

“Wee Jock” is probably the oddest named gym I’ve been to, most are things like “church” or “park entrance.”

We have one called Giant Nuts which never fails to raise a smile

There's a pokestop called "Back End of a Cow" in Edinburgh which made me laugh.

We have a pub near here which is a pokestop called The Naked Man

The postcard with "Greetings from the Naked Man" always makes me chuckle.

We also have "Man with Pole" which I think I've sent to at least one of you guys.

Around here we also laugh at one which is a statue of 3 Men in a Boat. But that's mainly at my expense as one day there was a raid there being organised and I was at work but saw the chat and quickly posted that could do it without much thought. And then when I got to the raid everyone was laughing because what I'd said was "I'm up for 3 Men at 5:00"

Ooh shiny Articuno will be available for three hours next Saturday! Guess I’ll be spending those hours going from raid to raid

I'm disappointed with the 3 hour raid window. It's very hard to raid with 2 DC aged 2 and under and noone else to look after them (DH works at weekends).

I struggle to get level 5 raids done normally due to not knowing far enough in advance when they are going to happen and then trying to get there on public transport in time (as I don't drive).

When they say increased xp for catch does that mean you'll get double xp if you evolve too? I'm sittin' on a lot of pidgeys.

Yay finally caught Mew! Well actually DD caught it for me. Once the raids were done the last parts were quick.

So new Sale on boxes in the store.

I haven't bothered looking much at the special box but the other 2 are good value even if all you want from them are the incubators.

I.e the great box will save you 220 coins vs buying 5 super incubators so all the other items are a 'free bonus'

Same with the Ultra box. It saves you 920 coins vs buying 12 super incubators. In fact it's such a good deal it makes them cheaper than buying 12 normal incubators. Even if you binned everything else in the box.

LumpySpacedPrincess No. It’s not a double XP event, you just get increased XP for the Pokémon you catch, the eggs you hatch and the raid battles you do.

Lucky eggs will last for an hour though, so I’d still use one and do your mass evolve. I do a mass evolve weekly on a lucky egg; it’s a great way to gain XP.

I hope that there's going to be more level 5 spawns during those 3 hours. In order to use 5 raid passes, I'd need all hatches to be level 5 and for the articuno to have hatched when the 3 hour window starts.

Caught a shiny Wailmer today, my second one. Still no shiny Magikarp! That’s made more annoying by the fact that DH is playing Pokemon Gold on Gameboy and he has a red Gary.

I was in the area I used to live in earlier his week and saw that my old flat is on top of to a gym and a pokestop. I would have been gold in that gym very quickly.

Shiny Roselia is now live in the game!

That explains why they’ve been everywhere today! Even more than usual in sunny weather.

NoFucksImAQueen It’ll be poor IVs; that’s why you should always IV check before evolving. I don’t evolve any Pokemon under 90% IVs.

Also by IV checking, you can use the same app and it’ll tell you what CP it will be when it’s evolved, as well as the stardust and candy cost for powering up.

NoFucksImAQueen A Pokemon’s IV is how good it is. You know you can appraise a Pokemon? Well it’s a more detailed version of that where you can see the exact attack, defense and stamina stats and how good it is in battle. I’ve attached a picture

I only evolve Pokémon above 90% IV.

You can use the app PokeGenie and it gives you lots of info including the CP when it’s evolved, stardust and candy cost for powering up, best movesets etc.

IVs are a very important part of the game if you want good Pokémon, and even more so if you’re battling and raiding.

Not checking IVs can lead to wasted candy and stardust, and with the Pokémon you want to be evolving and powering up, they’re both very precious and rare.

I'm hoping that quests weren't glitching in Europe while shiny Roselia were because I managed about 20 before 4pm
