I saw a wild blastoise on my scanner on the first day of the event. Sadly I was running late for work so couldn’t go get it!

Squirtle will almost certainly be a future Community Day Pokemon.

What the heck is a Marstomp?!
I've just seen one at a local gym raid. Unfortunately only spotted from afar as it was about to finish and didn't think to check the level as I was a bit surprised to even see it. Was this a glitch and an accidental release or has anyone else seen this?

A local player has caught a wild gyrados today. Only about 600CP though.

Had a couple of goes at Kyogre yesterday. Now caught 0/7 raids I am not a fan! (Subject to change if I ever actually catch it )

I saw a grey gym this morning and assumed it was in the middle of being taken over but it was still grey 3 hours later! It’s blue now. It’s my closest gym and while it’s not one that gets taken over constantly, it usually changes over daily.

I live near 5 pokestops and 4 gyms, am quite lucky! They change hands very frequently so it makes I quite fun. I noticed one of them has only pink pokemon today! The other day there was an eevee and just it's 5 evolutions, it was a bit silly but I liked it!

SneakyGremlins Was it a wild catch? Or did you not check the IV until after you evolved?

I evolved the wrong Eevee

SneakyGremlins Ahh well. I name all my Pokemon after their IV percentage and level, so for example like in the attached picture, ‘100% Level 31’, so I know exactly where they are in terms of needing evolution or powering up.

I don’t know about you but I see Eevee all the time so have plenty of candies; hopefully they’re not rare for you!

@SneakyGremlins - at least you’re checking IV, I only started to recently as I hadn’t done many gym battles/raids before the special research quests. Some of my high CP Pokemon has terrible IVs!

Just to stir up up the whole research task debate, there are still tasks with revive & stardust rewards as I was completely empty before going out today, so know that these were picked up today.

SneakyGremlins I personally wouldn’t as I like over 90% for everything and Beldum are so rare you want to make sure you have the best. However, their movesets let them down power wise.

Also, never evolve anything until you have enough candies for its final evolution, as by the time you have enough, chances are you’ll have a much better one and will have wasted candies by evolving to the second stage too early.

So if you don’t have 125 Beldum candies to evolve to Metagross, definitely don’t evolve to Metang, the second evolution.

Unless you can evolve it all the way (125 candy) then no!

Yeah, it’s never a good idea to evolve as soon as you can. I know it’s exciting to get a new Pokemon, but especially so with the rarer ones, you need to wait until you have 125 candies as there’s a high chance you’ll hatch/catch a better one and will have wasted the precious earlier candies.

Beldum are fairly common in 10k eggs for me, I have a 100% one waiting to evolve.

Caught a wild Blastoise today! 89% IV so not bad.

Is Wailord any use? I have an 87% one but 500 candies to evolve a Wailmer. Tempted to evolve my shiny that’s 86% XP but only level 6...
