The buddy candy will be useful because I'm yet to evolve slakoth and hopefully I'll catch a few lileep.

I was walking lileep but have enough candy now to evolve. Don’t have anything else I need to walk so changed back to beldum as mine is still rubbish so haven’t evolve any yet. Might change again to feebas but they are all rubbish to and I evolved my best one.

The only things I want from this event is a 100% golum and more xp.

Apologies if I'm butting in on this thread, but does anybody have any tips for throwing an Excellent Curve Ball? I'm starting to despair of ever managing it.

TinselAngel how close are you getting? Can you reliably get Greats? Are you confident curving? You really just need to keep spinning the ball until the last possible moment. I find a little flick helps get it centered.

@TinselAngel the secret is to find a big mon to do it on. I got mine on a wailmer!

@VickieCherry I can get Greats and Nices. I can Curve. I do it by kind of drawing a 6 but I know some people razz the ball around loads before they throw it- do you think that makes a difference?

I will try it on the mons suggested by others too.

Glad we have new shinies I’ve attached a couple of pictures of what they look like (purple Omanyte and green Kabuto).

I haven’t got to that bit on the special task yet. I just tested it on a Mr Mime and got an excellent curveball first time! I’m never going to be able to do that again.

I’ve also finally got my 10 ghosts, then about 20 minutes later 5 duskulls turn up in the middle of the day, ffs!

TinselAngel have you tried spinning the other way? I have more success spinning in an anti clockwise direction.

I got my first Ho-oh tonight. Bit rubbish at 73% and failed to catch the Latios at another raid, but it was fun to meet some other people so can't complain.

There is also a shiny Aerodactyl!

I’ve attached a picture of it as well as the current raid bosses (it should be noted that Solrock is still regional and we won’t be getting Latias back).

Shiny aerodactyl looks a bit disappointing - it’s only a slightly different colour.

BeesAndMist I wouldn’t say grey to purple is only slightly different 🤷‍♀️

@TinselAngel people spin the ball around a lot because they're waiting for the perfect moment to launch. You want to let go when it's just passing the size of a Great circle, so it lands as Excellent. It's also worth waiting until it's attacked (or use a nanab) so it won't jump at the wrong moment.

If you're just spinning a 6 and letting go you're not judging the side of the circle, which is the most important bit.

So let the ball go just after the circle is at its biggest?

Hmm, no... if you let go then you'll get a Nice or a Great. You want to wait until it's aaaaallllmost at its smallest, but allow enough time for the ball to travel.

Check out ProdigiesNation on YouTube, he has a few videos - some are aimed at catching legendaries with an Excellent, but the same idea applies.
