I have seen 421 Magikarp, caught 419 with 2 shinies, seen 124 Wailmer, caught 120, zero shinies. I'm going to wait till I catch a shiny Wailmer to evolve, just so it can look massive atop a gym. :o

In other news, the first 2 weeks of May will see increased sightings of Mankey, Machop, Makuhita and Meditite, and more Tyrogue from eggs, and more rewards for battling. I really need more of those.

Not rewards for battling, Machop etc. Rewards for battling are always welcome. :o

Yay! Got my second Latias today and it's 93% IV, much better than my other one. It really went to the wire though and we just got it as the clock ran down. My son is now mortified that I used discord to find other players! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?!

I thought the Gary evolution or the ditto would be the difficult bit. Never thought the ghosts would hide.

I haven’t been aware of any shiny Pokemon but I haven’t been looking out for them either

Passmethecrisps You don’t know if a Pokemon is shiny or not until you click on it; they don’t appear on the nearby as shiny nor are they shiny when you see them before you click on them.

So the only surefire way to make sure you don’t miss any shinies is to click on each and every single Pokémon that has the ability to be shiny in the hope that you’ll eventually come across one.

As a several-a-day battler and raider, I am very happy with this battle focused event and the two new shinies

I’ve attached a picture of the rewards for this event. So if you’re wanting gold on a particular gym, now is a great time to target it!

I have seen 351 Magikarp and caught 342. No shiny. I live in a marina so can’t get much closer to water!

Since I can do a 20 minute walk around the block and hit 3 gold gyms (just levelled the final one up at the weekend) this is going to be great for filling my bag.

I swear PoGo are watching my account and waiting for me to achieve something before putting out an event that would have made it much easier.

It’s taken me ages to Gold the two gyms I use everyday because everything gets kicked out after 5 mins. Finally got there on Monday.

I'm a bit meh about this event tbh. I do hit up gyms a lot and battle and raid every day, but I'm just not that bothered. Aside from the bonus rare candy and stardust in Raids I'm very apathetic towards this event. plus it's around for a whole fortnight so is going to get stale long before it's over.

I am not bothered about this event - in fact on my walk this morning I saw a grand total of about 5 things which weren’t fighting types. It seems overkill if that’s all I can catch for two weeks.

Argh! They have got rid of one of my local gyms and turned into a pokestop. It appeared like one I hadn't spun before. Thanks niantic
Repeatedly tells self it's only a game

I'm not going to tell anyone that the pokestop nearest my house is a pub that disappeared a couple of years ago, though there's still a clock next to it that would make a good replacement, particularly as it's one of those that's right twice a day.

That is hugely annoying KadabrasSpoon. I worry about my closest gym disappearing, it doesn't get raided all that much.

I'm really happy with the XP and stardust in this event, but not so much bothered about the fighting types. I'm halfway through 37 so hopefully some lucky egg raids will help that last push to 38. Then I've promised myself that I will slow down since there's not much to gain from levelling up further (well, except for bragging rights and as there are loads of level 40 players here that ship has already sailed). That's the plan anyway, it might not happen

A couple of stops near me have gone poof too. One was a council-run swimming pool that has been closed down, which I sort of feel sad about, but haven't used for years due to the excessive amount of chlorine it was necessary to use in the kids pool

Passmethecrisps Shiny Pokemon have three diamonds in the corner of their picture, and you also get a warning if you try to transfer them to make sure you really want to, so chances of accidentally transferring a shiny are low

Aha so they've put a new gym near the one that is now a pokestop. Have to start from scratch with that one though as it's new and the old one I'd nearly got to Gold.
