What is weird is the battler only took down 4 of the 6 gym dwellers. Why didn't she/he take down the gym properly?

The most likely reason is that someone was (remote?) berrying the last two Pokemon, making it not worth their while to carry on (as happened to me the other day - took out four, the fifth was being remote berried so I gave up as it was freezing).

But it could also be anything from they had less time than they thought to the freezing cold weather.

Damn & blast! a wild Meowth (CP 132) has turned up & I've got no balls. .

Those 'rewards' are utter bobbins for four months of vermin grinding @FreeNiki.

@WhatToDoAboutThis2017 Meowth is relatively rare for me too, I only see 1 or 2 a week.

Now only 2,500,000 xp to go to level up to 38 and get more bobbins.

I dont see meowth that often either. Now and again. But caught first one during the first few months of the game so a long while ago.

I see Meowth only 2 or 3 times a week (plenty during the Halloween events though.

Meowth is very rare around here! Didn't get Persian until around August this year- and that was using Pinnap berries on all of them (well, once they were released, anyway).

How weird! I see Meowth so often I never bother catching him as he's just not worth it.

Meowth is fairly uncommon here too.

When does the Christmas event start?

I cannot believe that they've handed out ex raid passes for Christmas Day (not that I've got one!).

I probably see meowth about 3-4 Times a week. Not rare, but not the most common thing I see either.

Hoothoot, Natu, Pidgeotto, Pidgey, Marill, Murkrow, Rattata, Shuppet, Spearow, Swinub, Wooper & Zubat seem to be most common around here.

I sometimes only take down a few out of a gym if it's one I'm trying to get points on and I'm rushing past.

Last year the Christmas Event started on Xmas Day so I'd expect an announcement soon.

I often get multiple Pokemon in my house. It's too early for the Christmas event, so probably just luck

Meowth was everywhere through both halloween events. I like the way he scraps when you try to catch him!

The gym could have been a drive by. Low CP pokemon are a good defense against drive by attacks if the gym is at a bus stop. There's been a few times I've not quite cleared out a particular gym or cleared it out but been out of range to put anything in.

I'm walking ralts, at the moment. 5km per candy jobby.

And yes, just logged in and have 2 extra spawns - which means 5 pokies in range of my house at once :o
