Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

Unfortunately my machamp was not double fighting but I'll let it off as I got four rare candies to feed my chansey with.

We had a very good totodile nest so I've a feraligytr, it's pretty good at fighting. Nest is diglett so I'm hoping to have enough to evolve them before Thursday, but I'm not putting the effort in like I did when it was totodiles :)

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/07/2017 20:33

HandbagKrabby What moves does it have?

Bimblesalong · 09/07/2017 22:04

Red appears to have taken over our entire city! Found a few empty slots and popped my mon in earlier. However, 'my' two red gyms in our village have kicked me out, but are still all red, no room. I think people have started to use alternative accounts to knock out a mon and then to swap to their main accounts to put one in :(. How do we deal with that?

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 10/07/2017 00:00

This evening is unusually colourful with lots of red and yellow gyms in the neighbourhood. In the morning, I'll endeavour to do the trainers a favour and return their pokemon with their 50 coins for the day. Wink The new system is better for variety and seems to be better for the minority teams to get a temporary foothold in rather than fruitless battles against maxed out gyms.

I've had a quiet few days, but have got a pikachav.

It'll be Bulbasaur's 1st birthday in just over a week. He's still CP 14 after all this time Grin

Wreckingball25 · 10/07/2017 15:45

Afternoon all! I did a raid earlier and got my first muk... and this? Fast TM! I tested using it on my golem and it asked if I wanted to switch out rock throwing (or similar) for a new fast move! I don't know Blush

Off to very rural lapland for the next week and a half so probably won't be catching anything there but got three pikachavs in the city today Grin

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/07/2017 15:57

Wreckingball25 A fast TM you want to use on a Pokemon that's got a good charge move but a weak fast move.

Or for example, if you've got a water Pokemon with a charged water move, you want to try and get it to be double water so it would get the STAB bonus for double water and be even more effective against water's weak types.

So you would change the fast move in an attempt to get double water.

But it is only worth using on a good Pokemon you want to gym with!

HandbagKrabby · 10/07/2017 16:29

what my raid machamp has counter and heavy slam which is a steep move.

Evolved my first polywrath and gyrados today. At 2400cp guy is my best Pokémon, not bad for a magikarp :)

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/07/2017 16:49

HandbagKrabby That's not bad; a steel move means it'll still be good against rock, just not dark or normal.

And yes, that was the fun of a magikarp in the original games! If you stuck with it, you got an awesome Pokemon Grin

Wreckingball25 · 10/07/2017 17:45

Thank you what!
I'll have a proper look at my best fighters Smile

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/07/2017 17:49

Wreckingball25 You're welcome; have fun Smile

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 10/07/2017 19:19

I used my fast TM on my top Rhydon which is my best overall CP. It hada fighting type quick attack and stone charge move which was problematic when I was trying to take on Weezing by myself in a raid last week. It might be the clincher that helps me do it now as the fast attack is now true to type and strong against poison types.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/07/2017 19:39

SomewhatIdiosyncratic So before, your (ground/rock) Rhydon had fight/rock moves?

What is its fast move now, if it's charge move is Stone Edge (rock)?

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 10/07/2017 23:44

He's now on Mud Slap (15) and Earthquake (120) I looked up what the options available were and it seemed a safe bet as the original rock smash fighting move was 15 anyway.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 11/07/2017 01:02

SomewhatIdiosyncratic I'm confused... I thought you said its charge move was Stone Edge? Or did you use a charge TM to make it Earthquake?

Either way if he's double ground now that's great, and Earthquake is a fantastic move.

KatyBerry · 11/07/2017 08:12

I'm very confused about coins... I've had three on gyms since yesterday afternoon and returned this morning after fighting hard - but no coins! All there over an hour. What is stopping the coins? Am greatly in need of coins for incubators!

You only get a maximum of 50 per day. I'm not sure of the hourly count, I'm afraid.

But if your first one came back with 50, the other two would come back with nothing.

Igneococcus · 11/07/2017 08:36

I'm confused about gyms.
I had a gyarados in a gym for 16 days. Motivation was down to 505 for about a week and all the others in the gym have motivation in the low hundreds too. Yesterday he came home (having battled bravely, supposedly) bringing 50 coins with him and needing reviving and some potion. I thought the gym had been taken down by another team but when I got home (I can see the gym from home but not interact with it from there) it was still blue and the all the other low-motivation pokemons where still there. The space he vacated was still available so we went straight back and popped him back in.
What happened here? I don't think there was a battle. Are pokemons kicked out after a certain time at low motivation. I mean, I'm pleased he came back with coins, not complaining, I'm just trying to understand.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 11/07/2017 08:38

What happened here? I don't think there was a battle. Are pokemons kicked out after a certain time at low motivation.

What happened was an opposing team attempted to take down your gym, but thought it was too hard/they were using too many potions/they ran out of time and gave up after they'd defeated your Pokemon.

So only your Pokemon came out.

Pokemon do not come out when their motivation runs out because it doesn't run out until they battle; it just stays low.

KatyBerry · 11/07/2017 08:41

Thanks whattodo - I got no coins at all! 2nd time it's happened so I don't know if it's a glitch I should report?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 11/07/2017 08:45

That's very strange. Unless they were in there less than an hour you should get a tiny something.

If you're genuinely not getting any coins (as in, not just mistakenly missing the message that crops up or misremembering how many you had before) then I'd definitely report it to Niantic. They will be able to investigate and explain Smile

Natsku · 11/07/2017 08:51

I nearly complained to Niantic when similar happened to me but half way through the very long form I remembered a pokemon had returned a little after midnight the night before with 50 coins so that covered that day.

Igneococcus · 11/07/2017 08:54

It's quite a raggedy bunch of pokemons in that gym, some have motivation as low as 200. I would have thought a stern look could defeat that gym by now. I wish there was some way of collecting coins other than the pokemon coming out of the gym. In our rural location gyms sometimes don't change for months. We have a charizard in another gym for 17 days now and someone keeps feeding the pokemons in there.

cottonwool125 · 11/07/2017 09:40

Lovely first catch of the day! Smile
