Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

Annoyed! I just went out of my way on a long walk to feed my vaporeon, only to find a flipping raid had just started and I can't! Grrr. At least I will hatch an extra egg.

My plans for a Pokémon weekend have been scuppered. No Machamp, no Venusaur Sad DD1 is poorly.

Me too, I think it's 'only' a cold. She's sleeping right now, poor baby. I'm itching to get out and play, and normally she would be too! She's my partner in crime. I asked my 4 year old if she'd like to come out and play and she said 'I already did' which is true, she soloed a raid last week Grin but she doesn't really like playing.

Snagged another Bayleaf in a raid and took down a blue gym stuffed with powerful mon only to last 10 minutes before being kicked out, sob.

I also did my first raid today on my own and took the gym! Well chuffed with myself - not really sure what I am doing but my fighting has improved with practice!
Gym is somewhere that closes at 5pm so if it stays another hour am sure it's guaranteed till the morning

I have done two Totodile raids so far and failed to catch both of them.

Has anyone mastered the art of throwing poke balls with the stars? Like, circling first and then throwing them? I think I need to practice that.

My daughter does the ball spinning thing but every time I try it they just whizz off in the wrong direction. After raids I just fruit and throw each time and it seems to work.

I spin anti-clockwise for a while then release at about 45 degree angle to the right of the pokemon, usually hits just right then

Finally caught a raid Croconaw. First ball. Meh. No idea why it wouldn't work before. It's a 'wonder' too!

I spin anticlockwise then pull the ball into the bottom left corner and then flick it diagonally upward and to the right. If you're left handed then clockwise and bottom right will work.

I went raiding with my son who hasn't played in months. He should have stopped fighting and concentrated on staying alive much earlier than he did because at L32 I could have taken the Electrobuzz on my own but it was giving his L15 collection a severe pounding. We did it, he got kicked out but rejoined in time for the payout.

I maxed out my bag this afternoon and for the first time found myself in the position of not wanting to throw anything away. I now need the potions and revives and I have a use for the berries too.

I had the same. Normally I'd throw out some berries to keep my Razzs and Pinabs to around 40 and my Nanabs to about 5. And revives to about 40 too. But now, every thing counts! I upgraded my bag twice today.

It's a 'wonder' too!

I'm pretty sure all Raid Pokemon are wonders. At the very least they'd be caught attention.

With throwing balls, I don't do anything in particular. No spinning or anything.

I usually tend to get 13 balls, and the circle is always dark red (very hard to catch!), so the first four or five I pinap, then the next four or five I raspberry. If I'm down to three balls and I still haven't got it, then I'll golden raspberry in desperation!

I'm poring all my winnings into bag upgrades, wish they would increase poke storage too. I have over 1000 pidgey candy.

Managed to take down another gym and this time my mon has some friends, only 2 but it's lovely to see a red gym in town.

I've done six raids so far, caught 4 of them, ad this is the only 'wonder' I have seen so far. I believe the other 3 were 'caught my attention'.

I must be lucky then as I've done double figures for raids now and they were all wonders!

Oh and I finally got some rare candy! Not sure who I'll use it on though 🤔

Wow, that is lucky. 7 raids, that should say. 3 Magikarp, all caught, 1 Bayleef, caught, 3 Croconaw, 1 caught. Only 1 wonder from 5, that being the Croc. I guess I'm owed Grin

Have you done more higher level bosses? Mine were all one or two 'heads' so far.

I experimented with spinning and found it much harder to get a great or excellent shot, do have it up as a bad job. Even less likely to bother now we have the first throw bonus.

It's a bit of a quandry, knowing what to use the candy for, isn't it? I was saving it, but I was getting more every day so saving it seemed odd.

It took me ages to decide but I finally decided to use some on Mareep as that's my furthest-away-from-evolution 5km non-nesting Pokémon Grin I figure even if there is an electric event, which there very likely will be soon, almost 100 candy would be hard to get.

I'm keeping a couple in reserve though.

I've done a mixture of all the raids levels, though mostly lower. My best was a Level 4 Lapras though.

With the rare candy I've been really unlucky and only have three, so I'm wanting to make sure I get it right! I really want a Dragonite and have 87 candy so might use it on Dratini...

That's a good choice

Dragonite is in the top three best Pokémon in the game for attack and defense
Dratini candy is 5km so it's efficient use
It's also gen 1, if you care about completing gen 1 first
Dratini don't nest and only come from 10km eggs
We had that water event which, for included Dratinis, so unless they have a dragon event which is seriously unlikely you're not going to get a sudden Dratini boon

It's all positives!

Yes that's all very true and it's leading me towards getting my Dragonite! Grin

I do definitely want to finish Gen 1 and I am around 14 or 15 Pokemon away (mainly grass evolutions), so it would be an excellent choice Grin

I got a Tm for fast move today after besting a Muk, not too sure what to use it on. My houndoom is not double dark but it's only 1700cp so not sure whether it's worth using it on it.

I've been using my rare candies on larvitar as my larvitar is better than my dratini. Still need to walk to the moon and back to evolve it though :)
