Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

Wow. A new pokestop just popped up! Cool.

Natsku · 28/06/2017 19:31

Lucky! Wish new ones would open up here.

DameDeDoubtance · 28/06/2017 20:29

We had a new stop appear 2 days ago, so cool.

I won a raid which was great but I am cleaned out of potions despite hitting 20 stops today on the way to and from work.

I am gutted as I want to play in the gyms but as they are so imbalanced round here I just lose out and can't play.

I think attackers should be rewarded with potions and revives so in areas where there is one team ruling the roost others can still play.

Strolls nonchalantly through the thread.

While that would be cool, it would still mean the same team would remain dominant as they'd have even more resources than before.

DH and I are prolific gymmers, take several each day and are part of the dominant team in our town, so if we got potions and revives, we'd take even more.

TheweewitchRoz · 28/06/2017 22:28

How do you have time to be so prolific What?

Any hints / tips?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 28/06/2017 22:34

TheweewitchRoz I only work part time and we have no kids, so I have four days a week to focus on Pokemon and then I play to and from work, before and after work and in my break at work.

I live near a pokestop I can usually now reach from my house, so can stock up lots of potions and revives (have over 200 revives alone) to use when gymming.

Pretty much every available minute I have the app open. Even just a nip to the shops (live in a small town but it's heavily populated with masses of gyms and pokestops) I have the app open to walk and spin stops.

And I have vast amounts of knowledge on the game itself because I played all the games growing up, so I know what I'm doing when gymming so I'm able to do it quickly and effectively.

TheweewitchRoz · 28/06/2017 23:22

Wow - that's impressive - my sons would love you Grin

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 28/06/2017 23:26

Ha ha Grin I may be a little obsessed!

But before Pokemon Go, I hadn't done any exercise whatsoever since I was at school over a decade ago. Before I'd never have walked up a hill or gone miles in a day for anything, but now, I'll happily do it to walk my buddy and catch my eggs, so that can only be a good thing Smile

tumpymummy · 29/06/2017 00:38

I'm still getting my head round these new gyms. Does anyone know when the mons in a gym run out of motivation do they come back to you automatically or do you have to wait for someone from another team to battle them?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 29/06/2017 00:46

If they lose all motivation, they come out of the gym, whether it's from battling or just not being fed.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 29/06/2017 07:13

I believe they only come out once they lose their next battle, even with an empty heart (violins) isn't that the case?

DameDeDoubtance · 29/06/2017 07:44

Not round here. I take down 6 pokes in 6 gyms in an evening. They stroll round 10 minutes later and take down 1 poke in 6 gyms.

I would happily invest the time taking the gyms down but I can't play now as I am out of potions. They won't deplete their supplies because they don't have to fight anything.

They are many, we are few! Grin

As far as I'm aware, an empty heart means you come out of the gym as soon as it happens. I don't think you need to wait for them to battle.

Not round here. I take down 6 pokes in 6 gyms in an evening. They stroll round 10 minutes later and take down 1 poke in 6 gyms.

Weird. We go round and do them all at once.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 29/06/2017 08:51

Ahh, PsammeadPaintedTheLion and tumpymummy, I'm wrong! It appears they go down very, very low but don't empty until they get battled.

I also found out this which PokemonGo might be interested in:

Motivation lowers much faster for Pokémon that have a CP of 3000 or higher - those with 2999 CP or lower decrease in Motivation at a rate of 1 per cent of the max per hour; those at 3000 CP or above decrease Motivation ten times faster, at a rate of 10 per cent per hour.

Natsku · 29/06/2017 14:16

My Snorlax has been in the gym next to a hotel for six and a half hours in the middle of the day and doesn't need any berries yet - this is unprecedented! He's by himself too so an easy take-down. Love battling with him because he bounces up and down like an excited child!

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 29/06/2017 14:48

One of my gyarados has been in a gym in a town that I passed through on the bus, for 3 days, 5 and a half hours.

I'm starting to worry that I may never see him again.

I only fed him once and since then, I presume others have been feeding him. He's right down to almost empty now though, so he might be home today.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 29/06/2017 14:54

By the way, nice Lapras, Bimbles!

Here's my estranged Gary. Come home soon, mama misses you!

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 29/06/2017 15:55

Bootiful!

Bimblesalong · 29/06/2017 15:58

Ooooh he's lovely. And hallo Gary!

Couldn't believe that after a year of searching a lapras shadow finally popped up. I'd gone out for a destress after a busy day at work :). That completes the gen one dex apart from regionals/legendaries.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 29/06/2017 16:04

Well done! That's cool, I hope I'll be able to say the same before summer is out. I still have 4 to go in gen 1, and my 'big one' is Chansey. The rest are quite easily walkable.

I've 7 to go in gen 2. I'll be walking Mareep and Larvitar forever, I think.

Natsku · 29/06/2017 16:17

I'm still 62 candies away from a dragonite :(

Stuck in hospital and there's a pokestop just slightly out of reach :(
