Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

I've done 3 raids!

Took on a 30,000 CP Rhydon with 4 other people, but we couldn't defeat it so left it.

Then saw an Electrabuzz so fought and son and caught it!

Then saw a Crocanaw and just had to have it, so bought another raid pass and caught it too!

Raids are SO MUCH FUN!!! I'm so happy with the new system!!!

Haven't braved a raid yet.

I have 4 Pokemon in gyms for over a day each. Should I stop feeding one each day to try and manage them out one day at a time.

I just did a raid, a magikarp one. Was the only person and the first two times it said I didn't defeat it despite taking its bar completely down in the first twenty seconds. Third time it finally recognised I defeated it but then didn't let me try and catch it. Got to this screen but it just frozen on there.

We tackled a cp22000 alakazam. 3 attempts but we couldn't quite do it. Our blissey and my umbreon did most damage to it.

We have a raid in an hour!!! One 'head' so probably a magikarp or a pidgey or something

I have a notification on my screen that avraid is about to begin and then there are eggs above some gyms with a countdown on top of them. I kinda fancy joining one but it means walking outside!

Has anyone done a gym raid on an iPhone 5s?

We still can't get DS's to work for gym raids and I am slowly losing the will to live at the thought of upgrading DS's phone.

Yes, mine is a 5s and has done fine with raids.

We just did a gym raid which had a 5000cp quilava in it. Took about 5 seconds to defeat it between us and some random man. There's another raid at another gym in 20 minutes so we are hanging outside a graveyard waiting for it to begin. A pokestop hasn't given me a raid pass for this gym though?

No, it won't. You only get one free raid pass a day.

So if you want to do more than one raid a day, you have to buy a raid pass from the shop for 100 coins.

A magikarp raid sounds shit but is actually really good. You can't get magikarp out of eggs anymore, so a magikarp raid is the only way to get a Level 20 wonder/caught attention one now.

Means you have a perfect candidate for an excellent Gyarados.

Has anyone done a gym raid on an iPhone 5s?

Don't know about raids, but we had an iPhone 5s and it was shit with Pokemon Go - kept crashing all the time. So we had to get new phones to even be able to play the game.

There's been lots of raids going on today but I didn't want to buy a pass, especially after the let down from the first raid.

At least there is a chance of him keeping his phone. The app is very glitchy on his iPhone 5s but I assumed that was the app rather than his phone.

Well, if he wants an upgrade he can earn it!

Can I ask, WhatToDoAboutThis2017 what phone did you get that plays it well? He is a truly dedicated player and it would probably be worth him getting a decent phone to play it on. He doesn't have any other gaming stuff to spend his allowance towards.

Well, seeing that I accidentally bought a raid pass ai ended up using it for the second raid. It was an 11600cp electabuzz which got taken down by 3 players very swiftly. Barely even left a dent in my gyaridos. We then spoke to an elderly man who was also taking part in the raid. He said that he isn't very keen on the new gyms and raids. He also said that he had enough pokecoins in the last event to buy 66 lucky eggs!!!!

For inexpensive phones that play well, Lok at the Moto g4 or g5, maybe the plus, not the play. 2gb ram and 16gb storage are the minimum requirements and the g4 play doesn't have that. I have a g5 with 3gb and ds1 has my old g4 plus, which I sold to him because it was too big for my hands.

We completed the raid (it really was a Magikarp! Stunning ) and took two gyms down for good measure.

I guess the rules that Pokémon get returned to their owners when the raid begins is not true.

Anyway, it was fun. Dd1 loved it, Magikarp are always good for feeding to our two beautiful Gyarados, and we got a couple of new badges.

I like the update so far!!

I did a raid this morning, took down a quilava on my own but couldn't catch it afterwards. I'd say over half the gyms we went past had raids on or about to start - it's really exciting! I've also made more coins since the gyms changed than I did the whole time before - it's so much more fun now

No, pokemom do not return after a raid. All the ones that were in the gyms where we were were still there after the raids.

Yes, that was my experience too. I wonder if they changed it for good, or if the 'coming home during a raid' thing has been suspended for the time being, due to the number of raids today? I am guessing normally they they will be less frequent.

I binned it already, I think it was 108 and it was a 'caught my attention' rather than a 'wonder'.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion Ooh you binned the magikarp you got from a raid? If it was a low CP, I get that, but it will have been Level 20 and they're so rare!
