Pokemon Go #6: Where pokemon babies are abandoned in gyms at freezing temperatures

Well, saw this little one left overnight in a gym. Sad, really... Where are his parents? What were they thinking? Do they work night shifts too?

So many questions...

I got a smoochum from a 10k... so disappointed. I wanted an awesome snorlax

TallulahBetty · 14/01/2017 14:49

Evolved a Golem! Now walking Charmander for the last few candies for a Charizard. Bit pissed off as the 10k egg I've been hatching was a Kabuto. I do need Kabutops I suppose, but was hoping for a Chansey or Lapras Angry

PickAChew · 14/01/2017 15:03

Mackem, we found nothing whatsoever at either! Not even any pokestops.

Had a good not so brisk walk, though. Those cutesy seasidey painted pavements are lethal with frost on!

PickAChew · 14/01/2017 15:05

And I mean nothing. I get more spawns through the village on a school run!

MuddlingMackem · 14/01/2017 17:47

Ah, man, PickAChew, really? Sad I was really hoping that was going to get me my Kabutops soon. If I do get down there though I'll be sure to wear shoes with good grips. Grin

Natsku · 14/01/2017 18:10

I caught a wild Porygon when getting out of a taxi, driver had to wait until I caught it before he could be paid!

DoctorTwo · 14/01/2017 18:53

I had a not bad day catch wise. 2 Omanyte, 3 Scyther, 3 Squirtle, 2 Bulbasaur, 2 Magikarp (now at 254 candy) and a Porygon.

Hatches were not so good. A Bellsprout, a Staryu and a Zubat.

I'm still walking Geodude and currently have 68 candies and have walked him 63.8km. I have a half decent Graveler, so I'm going to buddy him for another 40.2km so I can do a power up before evolving Golem. So that's another week or so. Then I'll switch to either Charmander or Bulbasaur, probably the former, as I only need 36 candies for Charizard.

53rdAndBird · 14/01/2017 19:44

Thanks to FeralBeryl's gym advice, I've finally kept a Pokémon in a gym for longer than a day! Got a local Level 8 gym up to Level 9 and stuck my Dragonite in there. It's now been 48 hours and the gym's since gone up to Level 10, woo!

MuddlingMackem · 14/01/2017 21:15

My only hatch today was a second Togepi, so I think when I finally get my Kabutops I may buddy one of those to evolve. Grin

53rd, I wish I could find a local gym of high enough level to do that, I usually have to keep reclaiming my local gyms each day to get coins, although I did manage to get in one on Monday and stay there until the end of Thursday, so that was nice. :)

PickAChew · 14/01/2017 21:16

I could do with some more Bulbasaurs. I miscounted and used up candy to power my best bulb up, so I'm 25 short of a venusaur!

I have one awesome Ivysaur, mind!

I'm now wondering if the network of footpaths between the park and the rec wasn't the nest, though there were no stops there, either and it was too slick for me to investigate - my back's been making my eyes water all week, as it is, without the prospect of exacerbating it by skidding on ice.

PickAChew · 14/01/2017 21:18

And typically, East park in Hull was Kabuto before Christmas. While we were visiting my parents nearby, it had become sodding Krappie. It's only bloody Kabuto, again!

MuddlingMackem · 14/01/2017 22:43

Oh no, PickAChew, and to think of all the ones that were around during the event.

I'm not familar with the parks, only been to the exhibition one when there's been an event on so not sure where anything would spawn. And if it's the southern one I don't think I've been in there at all, although I may go to investigate if I get the chance.

I'm sure your parents would love to see you again so soon, wouldn't they? Grin

LongtimeLurkerNowPokemonHunter · 15/01/2017 08:46

Held four gyms non locally for 10 days now. That includes the local one thays been glitched since around September Blush
One hatch yesterday. Nidoran. Argh.

Starlight2345 · 15/01/2017 17:32

Did an evolve yesterday Evolved a venosaur and a sands grew , caught a rare grimer yesterday which is my current buddy.. level 28 today ..

Icouldbeknitting · 15/01/2017 18:32

I hatched four eggs today, were any of them Grimers? No, they were not. Last week I finally finished walking my Kabuto, this week they are hanging around at the closest Pokestop. Last week I had a trip out to catch Omanytes (previously at seen three, caught two) and this week they are at the second closest Pokestop. I just have this feeling that once I actually get a Grimer they will start popping up (yes, right, in my dreams)

I hit L30 as of yesterday. I am liking the max revives, they revive and heal at the same time. I haven't dropped one from a Pokestop yet so I don't know if they are as rare as hen's teeth (or Grimers)

jennielou75 · 15/01/2017 18:43

I thought the same. Once I started walking my buddy as I was finishing they would pop up everywhere! Oh I get max revives quite often from poke stops.

DoctorTwo · 15/01/2017 20:14

Why is it that when I knowingly throw a curveball it isn't credited as a curveball? It's really annoying, especially as it took me ages to learn how to throw a curveball.

MuddlingMackem · 15/01/2017 21:06

PickAChew, we went to South Shields today, to see the Ridley Scott exhibition at The Word, so I talked DH into going there via the coastal route. As we were driving past Bents Park a solitary Kabuto appeared, which I was able to catch. DH drove round the back of the field to park up so we trudged across it and managed to get it for DH and DS, but DD's poofed. We drove back that way too but no luck then.

We also diverted home via Latimers and were able to get a first Snorlax each, pure good luck, and I also managed to get into three gyms for coins. Good Pokemon day. Grin

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 15/01/2017 23:03

Went out for a run this evening... started off on level 26 and came home on level 27 Smile

Caught my first wild Snorlax. I've got two from eggs that are strong, and a little extra candy is welcome. I saw it on the tracker just inside the woods. I had a torch on me and could see a Snorlax hunting party going on by torchlight!

PickAChew · 15/01/2017 23:18

We must have hit the park at the wrong time of the hour, then, Mackem! Though, when a nest is that unproductive, I prefer it when it's a small detour from a regular haunt, like Newcastle civic centre, rather than a park in a place I haven't visited for 20 years!

BumWad · 15/01/2017 23:22

Hello just checking in...

MuddlingMackem · 15/01/2017 23:43

Totally agree, PickAChew, I won't be making a specific visit there again although, until the nests next change, if I'm heading to or from Shields I might catch the E1 rather than the 20/20A on the off-chance.

CantstandmLMs · 16/01/2017 09:44

Getting a bit bored now. Still have 3 babies to hatch but grinding eggs and getting the usual crap is starting to grate.

I finally evolved my venousaur and Charizard last night so that leaves hitmonchan and a dragonite and the babies.

Bring on Gen2 for the love of God!

Dillite2 · 16/01/2017 09:45

This morning I kicked out a Togepi evolution out of a gym. It felt bad for kicking a baby out, but serves it right for addind to my seen list in pokedex.

I also hatched a meowth sigh

MuddlingMackem · 16/01/2017 12:53

CantstandmLMs, I'm hoping to complete the Gen 1 Eurodex before they release Gen 2, and I'm now soooo close. I'm hoping that the 10k egg I got at a pokestop today is an Aerodactyl and one of the umpteen 5ks is a Tangela, then I'm sorted. Grin Well, when I've walked for another 9 Kabuto candies anyway. Wink

I also only need one of the babies, but as that's also a 10k (Magby) I'm not holding my breath. :)
