Hello you lovely lot. Nowt new today, but at least I caught a couple of Squirtles and have enough candy to get Wartortle, so that's 4 to add to my Pokedex when I do a Lucky Egg mass evolve.

I like my Seadras as well - with dragon and ice moves and lower CP they are good for prestiging against dragons. With hydro pump they are decent all rounders for prestiging.

Had to go down the road today to the lone pokestop near me to keep my streak going and wait hopefully for a pokemon to turn up - a male nidoran 11cp and I used a razzberry and an ultraball just to make sure I caught him to keep my streak up!

Both my Lapras are a bit shit. They have dragon pulse which I dont like.

My lone lapras also has dragon pulse. I also caught it so have no spare candy to power it up. It's in a gym in an awkward location though, hopefully deterring attackers. Will see if it survives the weekend.

ive been kicked out everywhere. i was top dog in a level 10 gym for a bit. oh well.

now i have no pokemon in gyms

See now why I've been moaning about the update. Far easier to take gyms down and it's horrible and slow building them up again. I've given up making spaces for other team mates which is what I was doing previously.

There's a lot of gym activity going on here as well. As annoying as it can be, it's actual playing rather than lucky coin earning.
Before this, 3 of our local ones were level 10 blue and nobody could touch them. Now they change hands constantly which presumably is what they wanted to achieve.
I've battled in a lot more just because it's easier to take gyms down - so I reckon they achieved what they wanted by changing things.
I'm on 4 this evening but one is in the process of being taken over so I reckon I'll have 3 by the time I wake up. Oh well.

The usually big gyms in Sunderland had all had a bashing when I visited, this morning. Them students mustn't gt enough work to do :o

Summary of today:

Caught 6 out of 7 Onix in one nest (as pointed out by someone else, the candy is worth keeping for when Gen 2 pokemon are released, which looks to be imminent, judging by the news sites, now)
Caught 2 out of 3 Vulpix at another nest
DS1 caught a Chansey!
I finally hatched a Charmander, followed by another one an hour later!

i only ever had 2 reliable gyms. Now i just go back to normal. trying to get 10-20 coins from battling lowlevel gyms

A sodding Shellder and a Nidoran ♂ from latest eggs......

DS1's new phone has a serious case of wandering GPS. He did 5km, last night, just from 6pm to 10pm and found himself transported to another village, 4 miles away, at another point. Unfortunatel not in the range of the pokestop he used to work out where he was.

I'll just go back to hitting a few first thing in the morning/last thing at night and making the toddler do long walks past gyms on my day off! It had only very recently settled down and I haven't lost all gyms yet.

There's something quite satisfying about battling a range of Pokemon to earn your slot; a 30 second wipeout of the average L17 vaporeon doesn't satisfy as much. But at least the lower level casual players can take gyms down again so that has to be a blessing.

i like the huge xp from taking a gym down though.

PickAChew did you get the Onix at Mowbray Park or elsewhere? I need to go back there to try and get some more.

And where were the Vulpix nest and the Chansey?

I've noticed the gyms at the Stadium have been changing hands this past week, prior to that they were solidly level 9 or 10 red. Our nearest gym has been changing hands between all three teams regularly, often between about 10 at night and 8 in the morning!

It was a glorious sight on a dark rainy night.

Make sure you use a lucky egg and do an evolve at the same time as the 7 day streak.

my God. Didnt manage to hit a pokestop for the 7 day bonus for that with a lucky egg as not near enough.

Wow queen that's amazing. Just got my first 7 day streak as I don't have enough to evolve but will certainly try to do it next time. Might have to be a late night like you did as I don't have half hour spare in the morning to play Pokemon uninterrupted!

Got my first 7 day streak for catching this morning. Will get the stop streak when i go to work.
Half a km on my 2km egg left so we'll see what that brings today. Id really love a bulbasaur or charmander to save me having to walk as far for candy!

Wow - that's reason enough to hold out to next Sunday to evolve and run a lucky egg (loved the 3000 stardust bonus too this morning - for catching a Weedle!)

Will hit a PokeStop after church so will see what happens there too.

I reckon 4 of the gyms I'm in are broken. 2 definitely are and the other 2 really shouldn't have stood for over a month in a place where groups and families go.

Got the 7 day streak bonus this morning catching yet another Eevee. Is the pokestop bonus separate? Will I get another bonus when I get to the stop later on?
It's funny to see how different you play the game when you are in a Pokemon desert like I am compared to playing it in a city with lots of stops. There are 4 stops available in a doable location to me and one gym. There are more stops and gyms not that far away but i can't get mobile coverage there. I'm always low on balls, I can never just catch whatever is around. I never had hundreds of any pokemon. I mostly play to get the full set, I haven't even started to think about battling anything yet.

I did like getting 5200xp and 3100 stardust for catching a Pidgey.

There is only one pokestop where i live and it is on the road behind me. It is literally just out of range from inside the house or the back yard. The gps often wanders and i can hit it but no control over this.

It didnt wander whilst my lucky egg was on. As soon as my lucky egg ran out the gps glitched and i could hit the stop and i got 2550 for it. if only it had glitched when the lucky egg was on as I'd get 5100xp.

I'm going to formulate a plan and aim to use my lucky egg in two weeks time on my way to church - I'm sure something will pop up, I can do a small detour via a pokestop, and to top it all up the church is also a gym. Perfectly holly trip I say.

By your calculations the trip will be over 10k in xp. Awesome. Thanks so much for the tip.
