I'm a couple of thousand XP from level 20. Once there I might just grind up all the rubbish for candies and evolve the best ones.

I save candy (and unevolved Pokémon) and evolve in a big spree with a lucky egg for double xp

I save for massive evolves with a lucky egg too.
