Yep. Like I said, I don't have to walk far- only 27km altogether, and I'm 6km in already. It's going to be positively instant gratification after my last buddy for which I had to walk 60km.

What is a buddy??

One of the new updates brought in a buddy that you could assign to walk around with you (although not on the actual map). Click on your avarar from the main screen and go into the menu at the bottom right. The middle option is buddy and you can chose one of your pokemon to hang out with.
Some pokemon you get a candy for every 1km you walk, others are 3 or 5km.
Mines magikarp but I think I'll be week g that flappy bastard for a year before I've enough candy for gyarados!

it's v annoying if you walk miles every day in rural areas with terrible gps failures though

Just did an update but can't see any noticeable changes. No magical spawn points in my house

I'm getting impatient with waiting for eggs now I'm back down to 1 incubator. I think they definately give you 2 at level 20 so you're pissed off when they're gone and spend money. hurry up Google and give me more surveys!!!

Devil Oh yes. The game says I walked 7.1km, but I am pretty sure it's more than that. It has been taking forever to update the egg's meter. I'm not even anywhere rural!

Progress slowing. Now 3/4 of the way through 25. Im at 122 caught, 122 seen. Got these two new ones tonight. Waited ages for victreebell as my weepingbell was weak so I had to do a double evolve. Now at 14 pokedex lines

The other thing I've noticed over the last few days is that I've started catching some Pokemon with a really low CP, often as low as 10. Anyone know if there's a reason for this? Are they about to introduce a reason for having low ones? (I'm on level 22)

Had a charmander and machop spawn in the house tonight at same time it was great only ever caught one charmander before miles away! I've noticed when the game changed from day to night something really good spawns, had it happen a few times at home

Are you getting annoyed with seeing all the same pokemon in gyms? It's always either Goldick, Lapras, Vaporeon, Snorlax or Gyarados. There are others but not as often. My nearest gym has 6 vaporeons in it and 3 gyarados.

I like to put deliberately different ones in, for that reason Dillite. If I'm absolutely certain it won't last 24 hours, I put in something silly I was going to transfer for candy anyway, and then I transfer it after the knockout. Saves my meagre revive stores.

Hatched an aerodactyl tonight.

dillite I thought of you and put a Clefable and a hypno and a nidoking in today for variety! Caught a wild onyx, lickitung and two dratini so I can evolve dragonair. Unfortunately kabuto ran away. All duplicates but helps with the never ending plug for xp

I now have a hypno army. Drowsee are so common.

I hatched a decent Pikachu today, will make him my buddy soon

I've had a couple of interesting shadows turn up recently - I'm hoping that with the recent update they've shuffled some of the spawn points around. A cubone and a lickitung (not that I actually managed to find them, but it's better than nothing!)

The distance tracker is all over the place. A route that normally clocks up 1.4-2km registered 0.7km this morning.

On the other hand my eggs hatch very quickly when I'm not even moving sometimes so it kind of evens out for me!

Sadly, I'm not clocking up stationary km much either.

I was praying for my 2k egg to be pikachu today.

Nothing new today but I did see a rapidash shadow, not to be found though!
