That's why you try to get several into gyms in quick succession so you can collect more than one set of coins at a time. The gyms round me aren't that close though so we don't often get into more than one at a time

Itsoverpeople · 20/09/2016 14:02

If there is space stick it in. It won't stay long but you then hang around for 20 minutes fighting your own Squirtle with a Pokemon from the list in the link.

If done right you can gain 1000 xp for a fight that lasts 15 seconds and then do it again and again and again.

If you level the gym up to level 10 a rival team would have to beat you dozens of times to take the gym down or players from your own team are able to slot their defenders alongside squirtle

SoupDragon · 20/09/2016 14:23

I went up under the pretence of getting money out of the cash point, stuck my Squirtle in (it looks pathetic!) and battled it once with a random Pokemon to increase the prestige a little. There were a couple occupying the only bench within range so I had to leave or look like a twat!

SoupDragon · 20/09/2016 14:24

Since I left, someone has got a Magmar in and the gym has levelled up.

nuttelladreams · 20/09/2016 14:25

Totally baffled by the bubble thing

Have read and re-read it and still can't make any sense of it.
My 2k egg hatched a wheedle and my 5k gave me a paras. Ffs.
Saw another shadow of electabuzz and still no luck. He's teasing me now. So annoying.

SoupDragon · 20/09/2016 14:30

It looks like I should have attacked it with my 10CP Weedle though. Maybe.

Perhaps I should leave the tactics to people who know better!!

SoupDragon · 20/09/2016 14:31

Have you used the FastPokeMap to locat your Electrobuzz?

Icouldbeknitting · 20/09/2016 15:00

At L23 (and a half) I have no difficulty at all catching 10cp stuff, horsea and magikarp included. Instead of shipping them straight out I'll hang onto them because I could really do with those points.

PokemonGo · 20/09/2016 15:13

You can still do the level upping thing with more powerful Pokemon as long as you choose the right ones. You might not get the optimum XP but close enough. We've used things That way you don't have to leave quite such a low CP pokemon in a gym.

We use weak para's in the 600CP range.

Itsoverpeople · 20/09/2016 15:42

I think if you do it with 10cp Pokemon the battles last a few seconds and you can win with no damage so more xp per hour and less revives

TaraCarter · 20/09/2016 15:46

Bubble strat thing, the short version:

if you attack a pokemon in a gym with a lower cp one of your own and win, you earn more prestige for the gym than you would have if you had attacked with one of an equal and higher level.

However, it can be very difficult to win against a higher level defending pokemon! Someone has noticed that pokemon with the move Bubble are easier to beat with a lower-level 'Mon, because Bubble is slow, and you can get lots of hits in while it's preparing to strike.

TaraCarter · 20/09/2016 15:55

*one of an equal or higher level

Lilaclily · 20/09/2016 16:19

I used an incense today and caught my second Pikachu !

I keep seeing the shadow of a Ponyta in a certain place so might try it there next

Starlight234 · 20/09/2016 22:28

I had a Pikachu sat in my lounge watching tv tonight !! .. He is now living in my phone.

I had a charmander in my bed the other night too but with a rapsberry and ultraball jumped out and ran away.

MakeMyWineADouble · 21/09/2016 00:11

So the bubble strat thing is about Pokemon in gyms right? I never really get 10cp Pokemon anymore but it does make sense looking a gyms now! I'm finding the whole thing a bit meh at the moment gyms aren't changing much any more (had 2 in for over a week Shock) I'm not sure if that's cause the kids are back at school or cause a lot of people have got bored and stopped playing! I'm not catching anything exciting and hatching is hit and miss so I can see, although I'm nowhere near done I think if they don't release 2nd generation soon they will loose a lot of people! Also does anyone else have issues with their buddy's km vs egg km today I hatched a 2km egg but my buddy is only reading 0.8?

PokemonGo · 21/09/2016 00:57

I'm staying near a university campus and there is a gym over one of the central building and I've noticed its been a level two gym with the same two average CP Pokemon in it for the last few days. Is pokemon'ing not the done thing by Uni students.

I feel like walking over and battling it but I thought I might get some funny looks like I usually do

I saw and caught my first porygon today - low CP but very cute. It took a lot of hunting down as I'm in a town I'm not familiar with (and I don't want to use a pokevision type map Wink ) so I was delighted when I finally found him

QueenLizIII · 21/09/2016 00:58

My Pikachu buddy has now got enough candy to evolve nearly but I only have one and dont wont to part with him.

I used incense today and got the usual rubbish. Drowzees.

I had a massive evolve session, 22 pidgeys, 10 rattatas, etc etc. I ended up with over 50000 extra cp. I also timed it so an egg was due to hatch at the time the lucky egg was in use.

I only got one new one: had enough candy to evolve into a Dewgong.

Someone had put a 55CP pidgey in a gym today. I felt bad battling it, my Gyarados took it out in seconds.

nuttelladreams · 21/09/2016 06:51

One more question about the bubble thing!
Does it work when you train in a gym already in your team or only against your own Pokemon? What about against one in another team?

Thanks

nuttelladreams · 21/09/2016 06:53

These are my lowest ones. Which one should I put in first and which one to battle it?
Sorry I am almost getting it Grin

tumpymummy · 21/09/2016 14:36

Makemywineadouble I agree, my enthusiasm is trailing off. I'm on Level 21 and it's taking soooo long to get through this level. I dont understand why the make the levels longer and longer as the XP you get for stuff stays the same. I've also only got 1 incubator so it takes me ages to hatch anything now, and that seems to be the only way to get anything half good now. We were lucky that we went to America this summer so it was fun getting new and different pokemon, but here its the same old. All the gyms around me are up to Level 7 or 8 with pokemon at 3000 now so cant do those now either.

tumpymummy · 21/09/2016 14:40

Itsoverpeople thankyou, I might try that next time I find a space then. Normally I just wack my highest pokemon (1800) in then collect coins straight away. Mine have never stayed in more than an hour.

emmaluvseeyore · 21/09/2016 15:39

I caught a wild Snorlax earlier! First one I've even seen! My partner is so jealous, so it totally makes up for not catching the Dragonair the other day. Its IVs are rubbish, but I don't care.

Soubriquet · 21/09/2016 15:42

Am I the only one to not have any of the following?

Snorlax
Dragonite/dragonair
Onyx
Lapras
Gyrados

dementedpixie · 21/09/2016 15:46

I only have Lapras from your list but i hatched that rather than finding it

hollinhurst84 · 21/09/2016 15:48

My new catch!
