Apparently all the Pikachus are in Ealing, was there tonight and was reliably informed.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 18/09/2016 23:56

Bunch, do you mind explaining that again? I don't follow at all but have seen a few gyms around here with very low CP Pokemon in there & often wonder why.

QueenLizIII · 19/09/2016 00:33

How many Pokemon can you get done in one evolve session?

I have 22 to do so far.

PokemonGo · 19/09/2016 00:51

You can evolve about 60 or 70 Pokemon in one lucky egg session. If you are really quick. If you are evolving new Pokemon you will not be able to evolve quite as many. I make all the ones I want to evolve a 'favourite' and once I've evolved them I Unfavourite - this way you don't have to search around for hat to evolve. The other thing I do is set a timer of I know how long I have left.

QueenLizIII · 19/09/2016 01:03

I have one new one to evolve. Just sodding one!

I'll catch some more vermin tomorrow for more pidgeys to evolve to make up more numbers.

Duffmcstockings · 19/09/2016 01:31

Hello, I am new to the thread, but have lurked about a month. I play with ds 5. We are off to Cambridge next weekend. Can anyone tip us off on any hotspots there?

nuttelladreams · 19/09/2016 06:35

Queen on my last session I evolved 67 including 2 new ones so got 69k xp.
If you have 22 I'd carry on catching for a little while before you use the egg.

MagikarpetRide · 19/09/2016 06:57

Hi all,
Lost you for a while.

Not sure if this has previously been covered but how are people finding the km compared to the distance they actually travel? I'm finding it really random. I know I walk just over 5m as a minimum on an average day (sad but I've tracked some normal journeys for the sake of making sure my fitness tracker is working!). I probably get a straight walk 5m earn 5km over a day. But I can walk to the kids school and get a different amount to doing the return journey. It's insane!

Over halfway to level 25 now, caught 112 seen 113. Managed to hold a gym for 6 days recently too.

eurochick · 19/09/2016 06:59

I also find the amount walked really random. It's very frustrating when you know your walk home from the station and you have 0.5km to go to hatch an egg, and the bloody thing won't hatch!

eurochick · 19/09/2016 06:59

That should say you know your walk home from the station is a km!

EarlGreyTeaPlease · 19/09/2016 07:37

Duff - we did well in Cambridge this weekend. Good places were along the backs behind Queen's, King's, Clare and Trinity. Also on bridges over the river. Also We have seen pikachu three times on Tennis court road at the Lensfield road end.

EekBarbaraItsaDalek · 19/09/2016 07:39

Nutella - I'm away for the weekend at the coast, but there's more Pokemon here than where I work in London! I read somewhere that the tracker checks where you are at intervals and calculates the distance you've travelled. So if you're not walking in a completely straight line it doesn't work out the distance properly.

Dillite2 · 19/09/2016 08:21

My tracker seems to count bus journeys as well as train journeys, which I am not complaining about as it means I get more candy/ eggs evolved.

Yesterdays we caught a 500-something cp Lapras, so that's somethi new for us. The rest were Nicky Minaj, ratatas, podgeys, spearows, zubats, hyphos, abras, and so on. I am halfway to level 22 and have no lucky eggs or incense or lures. This will take ages to complete!

Icouldbeknitting · 19/09/2016 08:23

A low level pokemon holding a gym makes it easier for players to train and level it up quickly. Sticking in a 2.5k Gyrados means no opportunity for low level players to train. Caterpie first, Gyrados second means everyone can play.

Thingywhatsit · 19/09/2016 08:56

I finally got a snorlax 😄😄😄😄😄 went on Facebook last night at about 11.30 to see a post saying there was one about 3 minutes walk down the road. Rushed out with mine and ds's phone but it had already de spawned.... Ex who was here thought I was bonkers and he rarely plays it now, but logged in and lo behold had a shadow of a snorlax! A quick look on a poke map and it had respawned just 30 seconds away!!!! Mine was was only 320cp - but I got one! And ds was amazed when he woke up this morning and I told him to have a look!

SoupDragon · 19/09/2016 09:13

What is the Nikki Minaj Pokemon actually called? DS2 caught it and changed the name so I never saw the proper name. It's one of the most disturbing Pokemon I've seen!

Soubriquet · 19/09/2016 09:14

Jynx

SoupDragon · 19/09/2016 09:25

ah... That sounds familiar, thanks :)

MagikarpetRide · 19/09/2016 09:39

Loving soups ds right now for the name change!

Wrt the km travelled, I'm not sure it is quite as simple as going straight and when it refreshes the list. We have a large straight section of road which quite often earns no travelling. Even if you stop for a while on it, or catch a Pokemon. The list will refresh itself at least twice on that road but the distance often doesn't.

I did wonder if it was a time thing so maybe it didn't give you an update automatically so have left my game whilst I'd not really been walking, and it didn't catch itself up despite the list having refreshed itself.

Or maybe i walk too fast so it reckons I'm driving Grin

tumpymummy · 19/09/2016 09:55

ok, have tried powering up a couple of pokemon (before evolving). It's added a grand total of CP15 to their values so doesnt really seem worth the candies.

knitting thanks for explaining the low level cp pokemon in gyms. I had been wondering why I'd started seeing more of them this weekend. DS and I did exactly that last night. Trained up a friendly gym enough to pop our pokemon in too.

HelenJey · 19/09/2016 12:15

wow. This game is so addictive. My kids are fond of it. Unfortunately, I don't have time for it now. Sometimes we also play small flash pokemon games, such as Pokemon Catch Journey at www.friv4online.com/. It's quite entertaining and don't take so much time to play.

QueenLizIII · 19/09/2016 12:52

My GPS is messed up lately.

In the evenings I leave the app open and my avatar walks to the end of the road and back frequently. Over the course of few hours, Pikachu found a candy or two and my egg with 600m to go hatched. It hadnt moved form the sofa.

nuttelladreams · 19/09/2016 13:15

Knitting your explanation now makes so much sense! I've just been to Edgware and I've never seen a place with so many level 8/9/10 gyms - and they all have loads of weak ones! Clever really. Luckily I've managed to add my own to 3 of them and I'm now hoping they will stay for a while.
Up to 470 coins and want to buy 8 eggs for 500.

Cooroo · 19/09/2016 14:28

Wandered out from work for 30 mins expecting usual Rats and Pigeons, and caught me a Wigglytuft, which at CP 915 is my highest CP so far (sad...). However when I asked the trainer to appraise it, she positively sneered. It might as well have been a 10CP Weedle!

So should I hang on to it? I love it and am delighted to have it, but honestly what is the point if it would be crap in battle, has feeble stats and is tiny?

Icouldbeknitting · 19/09/2016 14:54

Cooroo you can always have it as a pet.

I picked up my phone to see if I was still sitting in a gym and caught a bulbasaur from the settee. I've been playing two months and I've only ever seen one and that was miles away. Things must have changed today, I'm now wondering what else is out there in Weedle land.
