Picachu popped up on the way to school, today. Such a shame DS1's used all his balls up on vermin. Of course, being a good mum, I took a screen shot of what I could have caught for him.

Not much better off for balls, myself, tbh, particularly after a wasteful scuffle with a particularly wriggly squirtle, this morning. I had intended to go into Durham, this morning, but decided that the £5 M&S voucher I had wasn't worth a soaking plus £7 bus fare and the twice I've been out so far this week, the buses have been horrendous, without heavy rain factored into the equation.

So balls will just have to wait until tomorrow.

I think it's just starter pokemon who jump up. I certainly don't want a fidgetty magickarp on my shoulder!

What are starter Pokemon?

Squirtle, bulbasaur, charmander or pikachu. Whichever one you got at the very beginning

Bulbasaur doesn't go on your shoulder :( I've walked him 23.5km - he's pretty chunky though so probably for the best! Still no Aerodactyl, hatched a Lapras instead ffs. Up to 140, just Need 50 more bulbasaur candy and the Aerodactyl then I'm done - it's getting pretty boring now tbh, it was so exciting finding ones that you didn't have before to fill the pokedex, not quite sure what to do now

Went on an epic 1 hour march after school drop off this morning. Took 2 gyms, bought an incubator, hatched a bloody Shellder out of a 5k egg.

Registered a 400m walk

I did catch a Seel and managed to evolve it though. Up to 98 in the Pokedex.

21000 points needed to get to level 23. It's a slog.

I think it might be whether you're on android or Apple - DD1's Eevie went on her shoulder on her tablet (which led to an extremely confusing conversation for my SIL!) whereas I've been driving around in traffic walking all sorts today and none of them have jumped up on me.

I am loving this new way to get candies though, have managed to evolve both my geodude and my Venonat today so more for the Pokedex there. I've hatched a load of stuff too but nothing new (including another bloody Rattata ).

Interesting, maybe just tiny pokemon go on shoulders. I'm sure there will be a list at all point

Ready to evolve Jigglypuff and Pikachu thanks to the buddy system. One candy from sandshrew. Ready to get vileplume too! Jusr need to sort the Nidorans!

I hatched a 5k Krabby and was so pissed off.

Got a 10k egg for the first time in weeks. Fingers crossed it is something good.

Pikachu is the only starter one that you only have to walk 1k for candy, I had bulbasour and wondered why I'd got nowt after 2k, turn out the rest if the starters need 3k grrr.

I now have magikarp as my buddy, but it's animation in the corner is annoying, I don't know why but I really hate it. But it's the only one I need candy for that I can get with 1km. I'm still having to go I to buddy menu to claim it though, rather than it adding automatically.

Dd had a mini row with her mates a few days ago as they'd found out one of the biys was gps spoofing and they'd said it's not fair, he said he only does it to gets pokestops as there's none in his village, and dd has an unfair advantage as she can access four, and that the other one has an advantage as her dad drives her looking for Pokemon so she has an advantage over people who play on foot as she can get further quicker, that the ones who have access to multiple gyms have advantage over ones who don't as the only way to get coins is spend money or go to gymns, and he doesn't have a gymn so he can't buy eggs and therefore can't level up as quick etc. that adults have unfair advantage as they can stay out late and play longer, wheras kids have responsibilities with homework and bedtimes hahahaha

They were teasing each other rather than proper arguing, and just ended up agreeing that different ways people play have advantages over how others play and as long as they are having fun and not hurting anyone else then that's all that matters. :)

redaa I have three aerodactyls :) if trading is added before you get one you can have one of mine :) it's worth collecting the candies still, even if you complete the pokedex as when they add second generation you'll plenty to evolve things like the third zubat stage.

No idea when they'll be adding second gen though.

ABunch I had MagiKarp for all of 5 minutes before I switched it for Ponyta. The constant flapping in the corner was too much.

I am 10 coins away from buying extra item storage. I was hoping to buy it today, but I just could not manage to hold two gyms simultaneously.

P.S. Are you noticing that one team dominates your local gyms?

Yes, Mystic usually have the most but Valor is close behind. Poor Instinct don't get much of a look in.

When I visited my mother on Monday three of the gyms I could see from her house were Mystic, I had three coins straight away, two more on Tuesday and I have a 1200 Golduck that's still out there. The local gyms to me are usually Valor, held by L27 players with 2K beasties. The closest was a level five gym on Monday. I walk past it twice a day and I battle it once on my way out and on my way back. It's taken me all week to nibble my way up but this afternoon I kicked out the 2300 Snorlax at the top. By tomorrow morning it will probably be level four and I will start all over again.

Got to 50 candy to evolve my clefairy just by having it as my buddy. Loving it. Now switched to pikachu only because I've only ever caught one so am miles away from evolving. I figure I might as well add some candies.
After ages not seeing any new ones I caught a grimer outside my house. 121 on pokedex with 2 more to evolve.
I have about 70 things to evolve but am only up to 115k on level 25 (need 190k) so not enough to change level. It drags on for ever. Trying to hold out until I've got 130k.
Has anyone bought lucky eggs? I've 400 coins and am pondering whether to get 8 eggs for 500. Thoughts?

Eggs totally worth it on an evolve spree. With 70 to evolve you'll power through. You might even need to do two eggs for that. I'm evolving now. Should wait to power up eggscute but I'm fed up. I've waited this long!
