Nut cutlets

Tesco ,years ago used to do vegan nut cutlets in a box of 4 ..we had these with roast dinner on a Sunday and as burgers in the week .
Sadly they were discontinued,and I've never found anything similar since
Posting here incase anyone has recommendations

Oh we used to love those! I live abroad now so am avidly following in case anyone posts a recipe to make them at home.

We loved them to ..now it's all mock meat type products,which ,as we can't tolerate pea protein,makes it difficult.
Do you remember the soy/ tofu chunks that Tesco did in a green bag ...oh we loved those too ,I made stir fry and noodles with them ,they went in enchiladas as well ,so many uses .but again discontinued sadly

Ha ! I remember those too, they were lovely, I think they were frozen?
the only nut thing I see now is nut roast and usually at Christmas.

I make nutty stuffing balls using sainsburys chestnut and hazelnut stuffing and toasted chopped nuts, quite nice with a roast and easy 🥜🌰

I wish they would bring them back ,don't really like fake meats ,so we got through lots of these as a family I really ought to try to make some

@Autumnpug7 yes. Maybe make a load of them and freeze.

Ditto nut roasts- where have they gone??

They only seem to come out at Christmas now. Apparently the Tesco one last year was lovely and came with a Port Gravy but they had sold out in my local so I did not get to try them.

It's back in ,called a seeded nut roast in a square shape
Quite nice ,but too thick to use as a burger,and not as nice as the nut cutlets

do you like spicy bean burgers ? Aldi do a nice one in their vegan range, which just keeps expanding, do you have one local to you, there’s loads of things I want to try !

I've been looking on alternative stores today ,and they gave a nut roast dried mix I'm going to try making in to nut cutlets .
They also have vegan toad in the hole @CalzoneOnLegs ..can't remember if you said you were vegetarian or if was someone else ..but if your vegan , alternative stores have vegan toad and vegan Yorkshire puds to
Plus vegan fried egg and vegan poached egg

Yes this one ,it's really nice and the sauce yum

@Autumnpug7 thank you, I’m veggie not vegan so I’m okay with the aunt Bessie toad🐸Trying to conjure up the enthusiasm for a Tesco visit 🥲 you should be able to form the nut roast mix into burger patties I would have thought 🍔

Yes that's the plan ..I just need to wait a week to order ,as I need the freezer room ,to buy the tofuturky and toads for Christmas I'm planning on getting.
Will report back when I've had a go making them ..
What would I bind it with as I don't use egg ??? Any ideas

Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Waitrose sell Clive’s nut roast, which is really good. I slice it for burgers. Also not a fan of fake meat.
