@Autumnpug7 yes I think so, the meat free Mondays, Veganuary and things like barbecues. And maybe some people that really miss burgers, but there clearly is a big demographic as they are everywhere, much harder to find a burger that’s not pretend meat, I will post what I read…..
‘Nut cutlets haven't completely disappeared, though they may be less common. Some retailers offer them, like Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer, but others, such as Asda, have discontinued them to focus on plant-based alternatives. If you're struggling to find pre-made nut cutlets, you can also find recipes online to make them from scratch, or use alternative ingredients like stuffing mix to create your own.
Why you might not find them everywhere:
Shift to Plant-Based Alternatives:
Many brands are moving away from traditional vegetarian products, like nut cutlets, in favor of newer, more elaborate plant-based meat substitutes.
Retailer Discontinuation:
Some supermarkets, like the retailer Asda, have stopped stocking nut cutlets to focus on other vegetarian options.
Where you might find them:
Specialty Supermarkets:
Keep an eye out at larger supermarkets and those with a wider range of frozen vegetarian and meat-free products, such as Sainsbury's.
Christmas Seasons:
Nut-based roasts are often more widely available during the Christmas period, according to a Reddit thread.
Marks & Spencer:
Marks & Spencer is one of the retailers that still sells nut roasts, which are a similar concept to nut cutlets.
What to do if you can't find them:
Make your own:
You can find recipes online for nut cutlets and nut roast, allowing you to make them at home.
Try substitutes:
You can use stuffing mix to create a similar dish, especially if you're not vegan, as adding an egg can help it hold its shape. ‘
