Karma I like your version of a (you know) Budha bowl type thing! That's what I do when I've got some leftover rice in the fridge! I must roast a squash we've had sitting around for a while too!
How do you make your chappatis Part ?

B. 2 apples, soaked apricots, lemon, water and grape juice, ground linseeds smoothie
L. Curried leek and cauliflour soup with spelt toasts.
S. 2 pumpernickels, pnut butter with sliced onion, endive, fresh flat leaved parsley salad.

@ppeatfruit the chapati recipe I use is 230g chapati flour and 1 tsp salt mixed to a dough with 2 tbsp olive oil and up to 150ml of hot water (I've learned to be a bit cautious with the water amount as it can get too wet, although I don't always remember 😂). Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until soft and pliable. Divide the dough evenly into 8 pcs and rest for 10 mins before rolling into a thin disc on a floured surface and dry frying on a high heat, flipping to cook both sides (should puff up a bit but mine don't always). Really easy and really delicious, but you do need the pan really hot
@Coconut80 woop woop, that's really cool

Yesterday was
B: porridge with raspberries, golden syrup and seeds
L: leftover Dahl, beetroot and a piece of naan bread
D: nut roast, roast potatoes/parsnips/butternut/carrot/cauliflower, broccoli, peas and gravy
S: fruit cake, Ritter marzipan

ppeatfruit · 22/03/2021 08:21

Thanks for that Part I'm intending to make a proper sourdough starter, I wonder if I could make a chapatti type pancake with the 'removed' bit of the starter?

B. Leftover smoothie and part of a pomelo.
L. Rice\turmeric Tagliatelli and spinach with a parsley\garlic\olive oil and basil dressing.
S. 2pumpernickel and pnut butter,nooch plus grated carrot/shallot salad

KobaniDaughters · 22/03/2021 14:58

Does anyone have a good at home fondue recipe???

OP posts:
PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 22/03/2021 21:11

@ppeatfruit I don't see why not, but you've not got much to lose by trying if you're using the excess Grin
@KobaniDaughters I haven't I'm afraid. The Bosh Camembert type thing that they do with garlic tiger bread is on my list of things to try, but haven't got round to it yet. I used to love fondue too, especially when the bread chunks are dipped in good vodka before the dunk in the cheese pot Grin

Yesterday was
B: dates, toasted panettone with naturli
L: freezer soup (labelled veg and pesto, also had cannellini beans and thin noodles in it) with a small sandwich filled with nut roast, cranberry sauce and Mayo (1 slice of bread because there wasn't enough filling for 2!)
S: cherry alpro yogurt
D: big salad, quiche, sweet potato and white potato hm chips, M&S coleslaw. Mixed fruit crumble (mostly apple with a few cherries and raspberries) with alpro custard

Today
B: usual Monday smoothie of dates/coffee/banana/peanut butter/soya milk
L: last of Friday's Dahl with a piece of naan
S: Apple
D: big salad, jacket potato with nooch and M&S coleslaw. Am very much considering a portion of crumble Grin

KobaniDaughters · 23/03/2021 03:45

Didn’t really eat most of the day today just because busy but had crispy gnocchi with roast carrots, onions and garlic with puy lentils and wild mushrooms and it was delish

ppeatfruit · 23/03/2021 09:10

Ref. fondue, I bought a 2nd hand Le Creuset Set many years ago, though it was the 2nd wave of their fashionableness, which we have NEVER used Grin . I always think about it; it must be easy to dip fruit into warmed up choc. sauce, or heat up oil and dip soft chopped up veg. into it . If you can be bothered!

B. Figs and blended pomelo.
L. Pasta with spinach and garlic sauce (it was dh's b\day and he bought cakes and champagne ,so I had one and an half cakes and actually finished a glass because it wasn't too tongue grabbing Grin
S. Bowl of porridge and molasses with soya milk

KobaniDaughters · 23/03/2021 15:06

Oh yeah I’m not buying one! We had one years ago and never used it either. I’m on a local Buy Nothing group and 3 neighbours have offered theirs to borrow so will do a proper cheese one for the omnivores, a vegan cheese one for the vegans and a chocolate one for everyone

Years ago when I was an omni I went to dinner at a friends’ where he made a very light fish broth in the fondue and we dipped in fish, prawns, quick cook veg like courgettes and broccoli and bits fell into the broth as they cooked so then we got to have bowls of it as soup once all the dipping was done - it was so delicious, I bet you can do a vegan version easily

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 23/03/2021 21:24

We have a fondue set! Also le creuset and I think we've had it for about 25 years. Misplaced it for a few years (turned up at DB's) but did definitely use it. Am sure DH won't be up for a vegan version, but I could do similar to you @KobaniDaughters when we're allowed to socialise again and do a dairy one and something for me 🤔. Here's a link to the one I'm meaning to try www.bosh.tv/recipes/camembosh

FD today
L: Egyptian black bean soup
D: Indonesian curry with silken tofu, cherry tomatoes and spinach. With broccoli

ppeatfruit · 24/03/2021 08:32

That fondue idea of using a broth, then drinking it sounds genius Kobani No waste!!! I hate waste!!

B. 2 Apples, soaked apricots, blended pomelo/ grapefuit juice\ground linsseed and pumpkin seed. smoothie
L. 2 pumpernickel with pnut butter and nooch, Large rocket, parsley, lettuce raw grated carrot and onion salad,
S. HM blended parsnip/carrot\onion/garlic bake,with salad.

KarmaViolet · 24/03/2021 11:34
