@AlmightyBob the samosas look amazing, and that aubergine curry sounds absolutely delicious. I haven't heard of Zaika, might add that to my cookery book wish list lol. And I'm sooo glad that you enjoyed the tiramisu, respect for eating it for breakfast Grin

B: porridge with stewed rhubarb, chopped hazelnuts and seeds
L: purple sprouting broccoli, leek and lentil bake. Dates
S: mango
D: GRT minestrone and crusty bread (cooked by DD14)

Today was picky until dinner: banana, cashews, dried figs, rich tea biscuits, orange bran muffin (halved the sugar and it wasn’t good!), cucumber and tahini

Then DH decided to cook udon in a homemade dashi miso soup and make agadeshi tofu. Then we had an apple pie a friend made to congratulate us on our citizenship!

Thanks @ppeatfruit but I’ve actually tried paul McKenna on 3 different occasions over the last two decades and it just hasn’t stuck or gelled for me, not sure why. In all honesty my weight is vanity pounds not full on weight loss so I find 5:2 simple and easy to jump in and out of - I just ate quite a lot at the weekend so I think that made me hungrier yesterday. Would def be better to just be more mindful but as yet that hasn’t managed to break my psyche and upbringing around food.

Very excited about my meals today though!

That's interesting KobanI but as I usually say we're all different and different ways of eating suit us too. I'm on and off it, it suits me (esp. the on and off bit!) When you get to my advanced years it creeps on sooo quickly!)

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 18/03/2021 12:46

Ooh @Coconut80 that was the book DD14 gave me for Mother's Day! From what I can see, almost every single recipe has a vegan alternative and I love the way she writes as she was a guardian regular for quite a long time. I haven't had chance to read it much yet, but am planning to

KarmaViolet · 19/03/2021 10:13

B: toast and marmite
L: vegan ham sandwich
D: leftovers. We've been a bit successful this week on using everything in the fridge, so I'm struggling to work out what to do with a smallish portion of leftover curry, half a punnet of cherry tomatoes, some spring onions, and a butternut squash that's been sitting in the fruit bowl for a while but still seems okay. Probably roast the squash and tomatoes, dump it all on rice and call it a rice bowl. Grin
