VB's dress on Mrs Burnham - horrible

I'm not a fashion expert and I really don't care much for it but this was the most horrible dress I have ever seen. Even on a coathangar bodytype like VB herself it wouldn't look good but on an average body it's just hideous. That's 850 £ unwisely spent. She could and should have gotten a dress from M&S for 50£ and actually looked good.

Her name is Marie France Van Heel. Not 'Mrs. Burnham'. She did not take her husband's name on marriage.

As for her dress, it wasn't hideous but it didn't suit her and 'baby blue' is a tough colour for anyone to wear. It was also at least a size too small. VB's designs are generally as dull as she is and only look good on women as stick thin as she is.

The actual dress is nice, it's just not very flattering on her. It looks as if the dress is ill fitted around the shoulders; almost looks like there's too much fabric, that's falling off her shoulders. Yes, she's carrying weight around her stomach and hips (like a lot of us!), and the dress emphasises that fact. She'd have been better choosing a more flattering style dress. I like the colour, it's pretty.

You didn't like how she looked, leave it there instead of creating a thread to tear down a woman you don't even know.

Not the shoes as well. Right, well, in that case, there's nothing else for it, we're going to have to burn the witch.

I'm not from the UK and never seen her before, but watched his speech and honestly thought he was years younger than her. Everything about her was so pale.

I'm surprised at some comments being deleted on here considering the revolting things that MN allowed to remain about the Princess of Wales a few years ago.

I would 100% say we need a proper, polished intelligent leader with some natural authority - and there is only one person I can see that fits the bill and that is Kemi Badenoch. The rest are just absolutely hopeless.

She will get the hang of it. The best thing is not to draw attention if you don’t want to be involved in the whole number 10 circus. Cherie Blair enjoyed being front and centre. Sam Cameron wanted to fade into the background. If I were Marie Burnham I’d have gone for something that wouldn’t draw comment. This wasn’t the right dress. If she doesn’t care, good for her but if I was part of their team I’d want to protect her by advising on style a bit.

I thought she carried the dress well but was too big for her on the shoulders. I don't care what she looks like, as long as she's a kind person and happy with this enormous burden.

Don’t you dare pick up other pps re her name! Most people have no idea who Burnham is - they have even less of an idea who his wife is ffs! No one knows anything about them! Could be anyone…a shocking indictment of the Labour Party.

I think people were more annoyed that they were being told they were unreasonable to say she was underweight. People were saying that is how women ‘should’ look when she is obviously underweight. In bad taste as she had cancer, but women normalising being underweight, when i
being underweight comes with health risks, isn’t a good thing and people should challenge it.

Attractive woman, but dress is not flattering: looks cheap and poorly made.

Im a size 10 with a flat stomach and I would have looked like crap in that dress. Im 64, she's late 50's. It would have shown up every single lump and ageing bump that I have. Its a dress that needs to be worn with restrictive shapewear by anyone our ages.
Something like a boody body suit.
I can think of many dresses that would have looked so much better and more flattering on her.
The colour wasnt right either.

I'm not a fan of VB's structureless, thin fabric styles, and I don't think they are easy for anyone to wear if I am honest: if you are too thin you looks shapeless and scrawny, and if not very thin it shows every bump. I wonder what most of the nasty posters on here would have looked like in something similarly cut...

But it nonetheless looked appropriate for the occasion (she didn't wear it so all her chest was hanging out) and I thought the colour really suited her.

I don't look very different to Marie France Van Heel actually. Exactly why I would never go for that dress.
