The three sisters who died in the sea in Brighton

This is sooo dodgy. There’s no recent photos of them, no one knows why they were there.
They were fully clothed. Handbags on the beach.
Their mum was found dead in a lake 16 yrs ago in Birmingham.
Police have reviewed 100’s of hours og cctv footage and nothing.
What the actual fuck?!

Someone will come along and tell us not to speculate but I agree with you OP. We should all be shouting for answers.

bluelightsky · 27/05/2026 21:07

I agree! There is something very wrong here. It makes zero sense why they'd suddenly decide to travel to Brighton and then go in the sea at 5am when it was rough, really cold, dark and choppy. Especially knowing their mother drowned

the80sweregreat · 27/05/2026 21:07

It is a disturbing case isn’t it.
Not sure what to think.

I think despite their family denials that they had been drinking and out late. Nothing wrong with drinking.

REDB99 · 27/05/2026 21:09

I haven’t read any other details other than them being named and a quote from the father. I think the circumstances are strange but it isn’t difficult to see how it could happen. They go for a paddle, the sea wasn’t especially calm, one falls, the others try to help, they get into difficultly, cold water shock and panic are a dangerous combination and it ends horribly tragically. We don’t know if they could swim which would make it harder for them to get out of any difficulty.

TheChosenTwo · 27/05/2026 21:09

I hadn’t heard that about their mother. I saw the statement from their father.
it’s genuinely such an incredibly sad snippet of a ‘story’ only it’s not a story at all, it’s 3 young lives cut tragically short and currently without reason. Just awful.

Ipsevenenabibas · 27/05/2026 21:09

Oh my, I didn't know this. I hope the truth will be revealed. May they rest in eternal peace.

Everyone I know is speculating about it- how could they not? the circumstances are weird as hell and nothing makes any sense. Of course people are going to talk about it and wonder.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 27/05/2026 21:10

Gosh. I thought it was beginning to look as though they went into the sea deliberately, having suffered the trauma of losing their mum tragically and struggled to get over it. Obviously that’s speculation.
Is there something else being suggested?

I thought that too. I did a lot of things when I was younger that my family had no clue about and even if they were out drinking/clubbing, so what? it doesn't mean what happened wasnt horrific or that it was somehow their fault.

Also, if they werent out clubbing that kind of makes it even stranger - if they were home loving girls who never went out then why were they on the beach at 5am?

LathkillDale · 27/05/2026 21:15

As I understand it, the beach at Brighton shelves and then there’s a steep drop! They could have been wading into the sea, in a drunken state and then fallen into deep water with cold water shock?

SingtotheCat · 27/05/2026 21:16

The family were so quick to say that they were “good girls” and how they didn’t drink or smoke or go out, as if that would make them bad people and worthy of drowing.

the80sweregreat · 27/05/2026 21:18

They were in their 30s , so not teenagers out having pranks with each other. It can’t be easy to investigate without any cctv and no real answers as to why they decided to go into the sea at that time and it wasn’t hot at the time either , so not just to cool off.
It is so sad and tragic.

HelenaWilson · 27/05/2026 21:18

We should all be shouting for answers.

Shouting at whom? And why should they answer?

Why do you think that would be a more effective way of finding the answers than the Coroner's inquest, which will be held once all the evidence has been gathered?

That’s the most logical conclusion. Of course, it’s more fun to concoct daft conspiracy theories.

I had a bad feeling the moment the Go Fund Me appeared. Stands at £43k so far.

I feel like this is a very logical explanation.

the80sweregreat · 27/05/2026 21:20

If there had been any other kind of foul play , then the autopsies would pick that up.

Possible. But it's a bit strange to go wading into the sea considering what happened to their mother (although if they were drunk it would sort of make more sense).

What’s the go fund me for?

They're not very weird circumstances. The beach is heavily shelved and literally stacked with groynes which cause severe rips. You can easily drop 15ft in one step, be in totally over your head, and get dragged out.

TV keeps showing beaches with big waves and characters happily splashing about in the surf. People don't seem to know that she's a very harsh mistress. Plus, if you really want to do a Virginia Woolf or Ann Quin, police will find the evidence of that.

They also had another cousin/sister who went missing. They did a go fund me and made about £40k. Then she was found in America.

bluelightsky · 27/05/2026 21:24

@ProudCat but why would you go down the beach in the early hours of the morning when it was cold and rough in the first place? I dont get it. Its not an inviting area to be and especially considering that their mother drowned and the trauma that went with that
