This is sooo dodgy. There’s no recent photos of them, no one knows why they were there.
They were fully clothed. Handbags on the beach.
Their mum was found dead in a lake 16 yrs ago in Birmingham.
Police have reviewed 100’s of hours og cctv footage and nothing.
What the actual fuck?!

I hope to God you don’t work for the police, courts, social services, education or in health care.

I’d be requesting to have your comments deleted if I were you.

I don’t. As I already wrote - I am not connected in any way professionally to this.

jeez the pile on

Tbf she’s clearly said she is none of that and is repeating local gossip. Very clearly.

Because it’s a thread asking what happened?

You know fuck all though if you’re going by someone saying something to someone who says to someone else etc.

Lunde · 27/05/2026 21:44

Witnesses are not meant to speak until they have given evidence and been discharged by the Inquest.

Solaitt · 27/05/2026 21:44

Scarlettjune · 27/05/2026 21:42

The hypocrisy! And yet there you are writing on a thread that is wondering what happened to them!

if you don’t think we should be discussing it, why are you here?

Do you know the definition of hypocrisy?

I haven’t made comment on the death of these ladies. I haven’t speculated. I was shocked at your comments claiming to “know” something.

If you truly “know” what happened to these poor women then go and assist the police for fucks sake.

Was the date special? A birthday, or the anniversary of their mum dying?

It’s horrific really, I feel so sorry for the dad, I’ve not heard anything about other siblings so is he facing growing older without his wife or three children? Awful.

One of the women had a different surname, was she married? Kids? It is just too terrible to think about really.

The eldest daughter had their dad's name , the youngest 2 had their mum's name. None of them had partners according to their step mother , the 3 women lived together.

bluelightsky · 27/05/2026 21:33

Well there can only be a few options:

  1. One or more of them were suicidal and deliberately went in (the others tried to rescue but drowned)
  2. It was a horrible accident and they all fell in
  3. They were murdered

Police are saying it’s not 3.

Murdering 3 people at once is quite the task. I can't see how making that appear to be an accident is feasible.

Who is a witness?! They probably don’t even know themselves yet 😂

As I understand it, the beach at Brighton shelves and then there’s a steep drop! They could have been wading into the sea, in a drunken state and then fallen into deep water with cold water shock?

It does, it shelves very steeply, it's medium-sized pebbles and a bugger to walk on.

Years ago I was swimming in the sea on the French Riviera and the bottom was similar - pebbies and very difficult and uncomfortable to stand on. I ended up crawling out on my hands and knees because I couldn't stand on it. I remember saying to myself 'stop being ridiculous, you can swim and you're only a couple of metres from the shore' but actually it was quite scary. A weekday morning in May and nobody about.

Scarlettjune · 27/05/2026 21:47

Not talking about this specific case. I have definitely seen a good few people down on the beach/ near the sea after a night out. It’s seen as a fun thing. It’s definitely made everyone including me, more aware of the dangers of that area

Backedoffhackedoff · 27/05/2026 21:45

People who have given statements to the police.

Backedoffhackedoff · 27/05/2026 21:49

Lunde · 27/05/2026 21:47

People who have given statements to the police.

How is that relevant to the thread? Is there someone referred to who has given a statement to the police? I can’t see it

(there is no reason to think you’ll be a witness in coroners court just because you gave a statement to the police either)

InconsequentialFerret · 27/05/2026 21:50

bluelightsky · 27/05/2026 21:40

The police were appalling in how they handled her case though- commenting on her alcohol use and menopause challenges. I hope they got raked over the coals for that, it was shocking.

I think the police fueled the speculation by the way they handled things.

Walkden · 27/05/2026 21:51

"Perhaps because it’s quite unusual for three people to accidently die all at the same time?"

Not that unusual though. There was the case of the rugby player for Ulster working on the family farm. The pet dog fell in a slurry tank and was overcome by fumes, one brother went in to rescue it, the other brother jumped in after him then the father followed.

I'm this case, if one sister fell in it's conceivable they all fell in trying to help her and each other.

SharkPants · 27/05/2026 21:52

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 27/05/2026 21:10

Gosh. I thought it was beginning to look as though they went into the sea deliberately, having suffered the trauma of losing their mum tragically and struggled to get over it. Obviously that’s speculation.
Is there something else being suggested?

Yes, I did wonder this as well. Perhaps it was a pact. So very sad whatever the reason.

WonderfulSmith · 27/05/2026 21:52

They were pulled out on Madeira Drive, which isn’t really where people go drinking so I don’t think it could be a ‘stumble out of the pub’ accident.

dapsnotplimsolls · 27/05/2026 21:54

This reminds me a bit of those 2 Hungarian sisters who drowned in Scotland.

whitefluffydog · 27/05/2026 21:54

REDB99 · 27/05/2026 21:09

I haven’t read any other details other than them being named and a quote from the father. I think the circumstances are strange but it isn’t difficult to see how it could happen. They go for a paddle, the sea wasn’t especially calm, one falls, the others try to help, they get into difficultly, cold water shock and panic are a dangerous combination and it ends horribly tragically. We don’t know if they could swim which would make it harder for them to get out of any difficulty.

this is the stupidest theory I have ever heard

They would travel a distance in the water from where they entered the water though

StrictlyCoffee · 27/05/2026 21:56

What do people think has happened? I recently heard about their mum having drowned as well, it’s so hard to think about one family having so much tragedy x

I think they drifted to that area via the sea. A person was first reported to be in “trouble” by the pier

GoodkneeBadKnee · 27/05/2026 21:29

So what do you think happened? Any of you?

I'm sorry but this is simply not true. I live in Brighton and swim in the sea often. There are no groynes in between the marina and the pier, which is the section of the sea where they were found. They cannot have been seen falling off a groyne as there isn't one there.

I also think there's no CCTV on the stretch nearest the marina. It's not really a part of the beach that people go to and you wouldn't choose to swim there as there are strong currents and big waves by the marina.

Sometimes you get very big shelves in the pebbles, especially after storms. You can walk into the sea and be ankle deep and then literally the next step be in over your head. I've done it whilst wearing a swimming costume and it was hard to get back out. I'd imagine that if you were fully clothed, not a good swimmer and the waves were big (and they would have been as it was windy that night/morning) then it would have been very difficult indeed to get out.

Whatever happened to them, three beautiful young women lost their lives. RIP

Edited to say that I seem to have quoted the wrong post, sorry. I was trying to quote the post that said someone saw them fall into the sea from a groyne.

Why is it stupid?

It seems like a reasonably likely explanation to me.

I don’t know their exact location, but a quick Google search shows that there ARE groynes in that area

The person reporting what her friend in the marine guard saw that night is likely to be a witness
