Does anyone want a tarot card pull?

I need to get my eye back in as I'm planning to get back in the swing of offering readings again in my local area.
I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, so I'm happy to do a few readings on here, because you'll be helping me just as much as I may be able to help you.
I should point out that my readings are not based on any psychic ability; I believe that each card contains multitudes and that normally a topic is discovered through back and forth during a reading, so forgive me if these seem a bit dry. If you could give me an area to focus on I'd be obliged, as with just a single card pull there's not always a huge amount to go on.
Let's limit it to the first 10 people and we'll see how we go.

@Soconfused202 You've asked about relationships and your love life, and the card I pulled for you is The Moon.

The Moon is a tricky card. It indicates things that are hidden, whether that is emotions, insecurities, fears, doubts... It can mean that you are not being your authentic self, or that someone else is withholding something from you.
In the moonlight, nothing is as it seems in the day. Landscapes appear different, colours are washed away. It shows us that we are not seeing something in its true light. Whether this is because we are not being honest with ourselves or because the truth that others are telling us is murky and insubstantial, is not certain.

If gaslighting were a tarot card, this would be it. We don't even trust ourselves to know what is going on half the time when this card rears its head. People say one thing and do another to the extent that we doubt a word that comes out of their mouths.
The flip side of this card is that it asks you to use your own intuition about a situation. You might be quite a trusting person generally, always ready to think the best of people, but this card warns against that. When the lizard brain sends a warning, it's always a good idea to pay attention to hunches, intuition, signs...

If you look deep inside, you probably know the answers to the questions that you have, but this being the moon, you doubt yourself. Answers may come to you in dreams, or through meditation. If they do, don't dismiss them. Your unconscious is a powerful tool, and we ignore it at our peril. So any 'bad feelings' you may have about people -take heed. Of course, this also goes for good feelings we have about people too, but this card generally doesn't appear to tell us all is well. It comes at a time when we are about to step off the path, take a wrong turn or are in danger of making a big mistake. So be careful.

@Dash1863 I pulled three cards for you, and they were the Queen of Wands, The 8 of Swords, and The Queen of Swords.

First of all, there are lots of Swords here, so it's possible you are overthinking, or have got yourself into a mess with trying to play fair. It's interesting that the 8 of Swords, the card that represents feeling trapped, frozen or otherwise hidebound by our own thoughts, is in the middle of the two Queens.

I think the two Queens represent the two faces you are being required to adopt -the Queen of Wands is probably truer to your real self (especially if you are an Aries, Leo or Sag) as she is the homemaker, and the woman who Gets Things Done. She is a kind woman, who wants nothing more than her family around her in her comfy, welcoming home. The Queen of Swords, however, is a different beast entirely. She is the dark side of the same coin. She can be bitter, and sharp tongued, and argumentative. She is capable of driving people away. You may feel that you are swinging wildly between the two, you may even feel that you don't recognise yourself sometimes when the Queen of Swords has the ascendancy. She is a wise queen, and has her place, but try to be governed more by her sunnier face.

It seems that you don't know what to do for the best if you are not yet on the same page about downsizing. Despite the 8 of Swords looking like a hopeless card with no positive outcome, there always is hope in the Tarot. Even in the darkest cards, we are shown possible solutions. With this card, the answer is that (unfortunately!) you are the person who will have to do the hard yard to get this over the finish line. You are not as tied and constricted as it might first seem.

I pulled a further card to see what could be done to break the impasse, and the card is the 5 of cups. This is a card that reminds us not to dwell on the past, but to seek ways of moving forward with a clear heart. A further card on top of this was the King of Wands.

With you represented by the Queen, this card must be your husband. Within the Tarot, they are a loving and devoted pair -dynamic and fiery, yes, but very much a team. If you can ask your husband to see the value of the meaning of the 5 of Cups - to see memories and sentimental feelings for what they are, valuable and precious but ultimately not lost by moving forward, you may be able to get him on your side.

@Orchidlover75 You asked about relationships and the card I pulled for you is the 4 of Swords.

This card asks us to take a little break. Depending on your circumstances, it can mean that, if you have been in the thick of it, dating-wise, it may be an idea to pull back a little and take a breath. You won't see the wood for the trees or have time to think clearly about your options if you are constantly on the go. You might just be bored with the whole dating merry-go-round and wish you could get off it once and for all.

If you are in a relationship. it can be a nudge to take some time to reconnect with your partner. This might come at a time when there are external pressures on you and you haven't been able to prioritise each other, and as a result are feeling a little hard done by and unloved. It can sometimes come at a time of physical sickness which has lasted longer than anyone anticipated and perhaps you haven't fully taken the time to get yourself properly well due to comittments.

Ultimately this is a card that asks you to really lean in to some quiet, meditative time. One of the names for this card is The Lord of Rest from Strife. There are three swords on the wall of the church in the image, and these usually signify battles won or endured. The fourth sword hangs under the body in repose on the tomb -this represents opportunities not yet taken, that can be approached once you have reinvigorated yourself and feel back to your full powers. So there is still excitement and challenges to be enjoyed. Only you will know when you are ready to take up that fourth sword.

@Mxflamingnoravera You asked how best to care for your mum, and I pulled two cards for you. They are The Emperor and The Star.

You don't mention what type of care your Mum may need, but The Emperor is a card that tells us that hard decisions could have to be made in the near future.

He is an authoritative figure who can represent institutions, so if you are approaching a situation where you may have to relinquish some of the care for your mum to an outside body like home help or a care home, the card is saying that this may be something you need to explore. The Emperor asks us to look at facts with a clear head. He gives us the confidence to make hard decisions, using only the facts to hand. He also represents authority within a family, so the implication may be that there are other people you can call on to help with formulating a plan.

The Star is a beautiful card that talks of Faith and Hope. She is the card that falls directly after The Devil and The Tower in the sequence of the Major Arcana. The star is only reached by having gone through some pretty hard stuff that may have tested you to your limits. She is the card that grants us a wish, and is always the card that you want to see if you are struggling.

In the distance in the image on The Star card is an Ibis. They are said to be the last bird to seek shelter before a storm, and the first to emerge afterward. They stand as a beautiful symbol of hope, resilience and optimism.

@Ginflinger You asked if you should go home this year and the card I have for you is the 5 of Wands.

The question I have for you is: Who is saying that you shouldn't? Or who is pressuring you to return? This card pops up when there are a multitude of differing opinions about what to do. Of course, these might not be from different people, they could all be arguments you are having with yourself.

Some of these arguments will have more weight than others -so you need to disregard the more ridiculous reasons.
I felt I needed more context, so I pulled two more cards, The Hanged Man and The Ace of Cups.
Very prosaically, is the journey going to be a long one? The Hanged Man is upside down, literally facing the other side of the world. If so, obviously there are different considerations to a short journey round the M25. The ace of cups can represent a birth, or another compelling reason to visit, so I wonder if these cards are saying that you feel under pressure to visit, when perhaps your heart isn't in it. Cups rule emotions, and could mean that you have quite strong feelings about what might await you if you do go. Would you be letting a genie out of the bottle in some way if you return?

The Hanged Man also asks us to try and see things from a different perspective. So it might be helpful to reframe the question. What would happen if I didn't go home this year? And see how that makes you feel.

@Smalldandelion You asked what this year might bring, and the card I have for you is the Queen of Wands. She is my ruling card, and I am always happy to see her when she pops up in a reading.

She represents a positive, dynamic woman who is close to her family. She may be you, or she may be someone close to you who is important to you right now. She is normally a fire sign and is often inordinately fond of cats or pets in general. This is the card of the Hearth witch -home and heritage are important to her. She is a sexual being -she is the only one of the Queens who sits with her knees apart -she holds a staff and has a black cat at her feet. Enough with the symbolism already!
She may be asking that you be more like her -asking you to embrace your creative, fiery side. She is completely, unapologetically, herself. She radiates power and determination -her character always makes me think of Danaerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, if that helps you. You only wrong this woman once. It maybe that a person like this is about to come into your life

In terms of happenings, she is excitement, new experiences, and asks us to grasp the nettle when it is handed to us. She knows we are equal to the challenge, so when courage is required of you, think of this Queen, and take a leap into the void.

@Gcsunnyside23 You asked about your immediate family and the cards I pulled for you are The King of Swords, The Lovers, and The Star

Immediately I assume there are conflicts. The King can talk of separations, and the Lovers usually represent a couple. Are you concerned for someone in the family who is going through a hard time? Normally what the King says and does is final, but because The Lovers can also represent a trinity, I wonder if he is a person who is meddling in some way in this relationship. Is he causing trouble, or is he the third wheel in the relationship? The King is inflexible, unbending. When his mind is made up, there is little that can be done to change it. He speaks his mind and sometimes his words are cutting.

These cards could also represent the fact that a couple need to be honest with each other, and let in the truth that the King offers. He could be a counsellor, or a mediator that they would do well to listen to. He is not necessarily a professional, he might be a well meaning friend or relative.

The Star is the card here that brings us hope that whatever rifts may have appeared, there is the very real possibility of reconciliation and peace. The card is crowned by eight, eight pointed stars. These represent luck and good fortune in many cultures -they symbolise help from above, and can show that when all other hope is lost, miracles can and do happen.

PracticalTarot · 13/02/2025 13:11

@Idratherbepaddleboarding Your question concerns friendships, and the cards I have for you are The Page of Swords, and The King of Pentacles.

They are quite different cards. We also have cards here that represent people, rather than a situation. I wonder if you feel that your current friendship group has become a bit, well -boring? The King represents everything that is solid, familiar, established, ticking over -I can very much imagine that friends you have who go way back with you even to childhood, could be referenced here. The King loves nothing more than his own house, his own things and people around him. He demands complete fealty from them -after all, they know everything about him and could quite easily be his undoing if they were to let slip his secrets. He is the card that reminds us to 'keep our friends close, and our enemies closer.'

On the other hand, The Page is all about new beginnings, new ideas -he represents the excitement that can come from meeting new people who have different ways of doing things. This card traditiionally heralds important news incoming. The birds that can be seen approaching in the distance are messengers that tell of new experiences, new ways of thinking -they might seem quite radical, in fact, but they are a complete antidote to the solid, earthy King.

So there may be an element of choice to be had -they could be two competing friends who both require your friendship but who don't particularly like the other, and are forcing you to choose between them. The page particularly is very persuasive, great with words and a natural charmer. The signs here are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The King may be older, more settled, more thorough. The signs associated with him are Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

@PracticalTarot Thank you for the reading.
My request was A man of retirement age, new career, I have ideas.'
To clarify, I am not seeking to intrude into a personal relationship. but to invest and work in an existing business. It is a small and family owned. I already had doubts about acceptance as an outsider.
You have helped me decide.
Thank You.

Wow! Thank you so much. I’m very happy to get such a positive card. I will be making a big change this year so much courage is required of me. I am an extremely determined person, very creative and cat obsessed so it’s interesting that this card has appeared! I am essentially close to taking a leap into the void so I will take courage from this strong queen. I class myself as a witch so it’s interesting that a witchy card has come up too 💕 Thank you ☺️

Hi OP, I just wondered if my name was still on your list, I asked on Sunday. Thank you 💐

memememe · 15/02/2025 10:20

PracticalTarot · 13/02/2025 10:22

@memememe You asked if your relationship is a long term thing, and the card I have for you is the three of Wands.
Threes in Tarot are interesting because they are all about building on the start that was made in the 2s. In the two of wands, a man stands, looking out into the distance. He holds a globe in his hand. It is about having the courage to start new adventures.

In the three, the man looks out over a sea where the ships he has sent forth are disappearing into the distance. This card is about committing to plans and getting them underway. It indicates that you have reached the point where you are considering where the relationship is going. You have put down a solid foundation and clearly like your partner, so what this card is asking is what direction do you want to take? How much commitment would you like? It is about planning and contemplating the next steps.

The card can come up when we feel that we are at a crossroads. Between the beginnings of the 2, and the solid foundations ahead in the 4, the Threes are the time when people consolidate what they have, or perhaps decide it's not for them. So while the card can't answer your question directly, it indicates that you have a solid foundation to build on, although it does ask that you look carefully at your feelings and what it is that you want, and if the relationship has the potential to fulfill that for you.

Thank you. This is exactly how I'm feeling, you've hit the nail on the head. Very helpful thank you 😊

I really appreciate the time you've taken to do this for me (and everyone else!!)

PracticalTarot · 17/02/2025 17:28

@WatermelonSugarLow You asked about family relationships and the card I have for you is the Page of Swords. Pages, if they are sent to represent a particular individual, often (but not always) arrive when the person in question is young. This is very much the card of someone who knows their own mind and isn't afraid to tell everyone around them what they think. Of course, when someone 'speaks their truth,' that doesn't always go well for the people around them. They can be sharp-tongued and quick to anger. They know other people's triggers and how to push them. This person can be vindictive, bitchy and uncontrollable. They can also be great fun, exciting to be around, quick and funny. This can be the card of a young person who hasn't yet learned to control their emotions, who is led by a sense of injustice and that everything just 'isn't fair.' It can also be the card of someone who is older but still has that same sense that nothing they do is their fault, no matter how much they may inadvertently hurt others. They can push people to such an extent that their victims just remove themselves from the theatre of conflict rather than enter into combat.
I asked the cards for some guidance on how to deal with such a person, and pulled the 8 of swords and the 6 of wands. The 8 says that you may well feel that you don't have a solution to the situation, that you feel quite trapped -this can be the card of 'can't do right for doing wrong.' But there is always a way out -and the 6 of wands may give us a solution. The card tells us of success -success in the eyes of the individual. So potentially you may need to allow this person to feel that they have 'won' in the meantime, if it smooths the situation over. Wishing you well, this doesn't seem easy for you.

PracticalTarot · 17/02/2025 17:55

@Smalldandelion You asked about existing relationships -The card I have for you is the 10 of Pentacles.

This is a lovely card to see in any matters to do with family or relationships because it speaks of generational relationships -it shows a family who are settled and happy and who have the spoils of their investments and affection around them. If you have been struggling to tolerate people in your immediate family, this is a great card to see because it speaks of harmony and peace. Unhappy situations will improve markedly.

This card is sometimes called the Lord Of Wealth. It implies that the persons in the card have earned their position through hard graft, rather than any kind of nepotism or luck. The road here has been hard, but just look at the spoils displayed!

There are traditional links here to situations such as selling a business, or a property in order to pass wealth along the family. It could mean for you that this is a sticking point as much as a blessing. The dogs in the card can be seen as a means of connection between generations -the old man and the child are both petting the dogs, but are not in contact themselves -there may be needed an intermediary to move things along, such as a lawyer or another third party to act as an interlocutor.

In terms of romantic relationships, this can speak of moving into another phase of life and the challenges that may come along with that, be it retirement, sickness, house sales, relocation, children moving away and so on. I would be surprised if this card was referencing a wedding, unless it was one happening later in life when both parties are quite settled, but if it is, it is about the sheer weight of money and resources that might need to be moved to make the wedding happen, in which case, I would ask the individual to reassess how much they are asking family members to contribute, especially if it is placing a burden on people that could be avoided.

@MuddlingThroughLife You asked about your health and the card I have for you is the Ace of Wands. This is a wonderful card to see in relation to health, as it is a card that gives the gift of vitality. It is literally a big ol' dick being handed to you from the heavens, with all that that conveys. It speaks of renewed vigour, a lust for life, energy that is able to be channelled. If you, or your partner have been suffering with ED, this is the card you want to see. It does not just refer to sexual health, of course, it can indicate that a course of medicine will be beneficial, that exercise will return results quicker than you anticipated, and your va va voom will be on the rise. The suit of Wands deals with life in all its physical and animalistic glory, and it relates to the season of Spring with all of the sense of rebirth that the season conveys -so if you, or someone close to you has been suffering, expect to see a big uptick in the situation quite soon.

@Whylurkwhenicanjoinin You asked about the next few months and the card I have for you is the 5 of Cups.

All of the 5s are tricky cards. I can't tell if you are anticipating the next few months as being hard or not, but this certainly says that you might be up against it, emotionally speaking. This card would suggest to me that you are already in the thick of it, whatever it is. You may have been here before. With this card, you almost probably have, because it speaks of well trodden paths. It speaks of loss, and mourning for what has gone. It is important that you are able to juggle the feelings of loss with the understanding that you must also move on.

However, as the saying goes; you can't cross the same river twice, so this card is asking you what you can do differently this time round. Are there approaches that you may have overlooked? This card also speaks of water under the bridge -has too much passed that you can ever return to a new beginning with someone, or a situation? Or can you find a way forward?

There is always something that can be rescued, or reclaimed from the situation you find yourself in. It does ask you to do the hard work -unfortunately, this is work that needs to be done from the inside out, it is not going to plonk itself in your lap. If this card relates to a breakdown in communications with someone, for example, it might be saying that you can take pride in the way you have dealt with the situation and handled yourself with composure and a sense of even-handedness. It could be to do with physical grief for someone who has passed away, and if so, this card is a nudge to say that now is the time to truly focus on the wonderful positives that they brought to the world, rather than on the fact that they are gone. If we have lost a job, we must look at the opportunities afforded to us that are out there. This card, in a nutshell, says 'Enough, now.'

If it’s possible to add my request to your list.

There’s a potential career opportunity that may become available in the near future. It’s not certain the opportunity will be there, but it’s possible. and it’s not a done deal that the opportunity would be mine if it did become available. I’m excited about the prospect of it but I have some hesitations.

I wonder what the cards might say?
