Does anyone want a tarot card pull?

I need to get my eye back in as I'm planning to get back in the swing of offering readings again in my local area.
I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, so I'm happy to do a few readings on here, because you'll be helping me just as much as I may be able to help you.
I should point out that my readings are not based on any psychic ability; I believe that each card contains multitudes and that normally a topic is discovered through back and forth during a reading, so forgive me if these seem a bit dry. If you could give me an area to focus on I'd be obliged, as with just a single card pull there's not always a huge amount to go on.
Let's limit it to the first 10 people and we'll see how we go.

PracticalTarot- am I near the top of the list yet? Sorry if I seem impatient!

omgsoill · 11/02/2025 22:04

@PracticalTarot
Thank you so much for the reading. While not the positivity I was hoping for, it held a lot of truth and meaning for me. I am certainly aiming on the accepting, healing and moving past, but I fear it has been such a long build up with lots of parts within it that it will take a while/longer than hoped.
As for the second card... I am indeed in a state of indecision, although you pulling it has helped nudge me onto the path i was erring towards as well.

Thank you - very much appreciated for your time to do this x

Stressybetty · 12/02/2025 01:49

Thank you for my reading ☺️

@Bignanna you're 5 readings away.

@jamdan21 You asked for a general reading with a focus on Health and the card I have for you is the four of Pentacles.
This card says that nothing really is set to change. If you are on a path at the moment that you are happy with, then you don't need to switch anything up if it's working for you. Health wise, there can be an element of being in denial, so if you are burying your head in the sand about changes that need to be made, now is the time to get thinking about what can be done. It can indicate holding onto old, bad habits, even when you know that changing them would be beneficial. This works both ways, insofar as it also refers to being stuck to overly restrictive or detrimental habits that on the face of it are positive (for example -calorie restriction),
So the card is asking us to examine our habits and see which ones can be changed for the better.
Other than relating to health, this is a card of financial security. It highlights investments, savings and any ventures to do with money. It says that you might be fairly comfortable right now (although of course that is relative!) and so perhaps it is time to loosen up a little and spend some of your carefully saved assets, or perhaps move them around, invest differently and think how they can work better for you. The card warns against hoarding resources and to maybe act a little more generously to those around you if they have asked for help.

@Icabod You also asked about a health reading, and much like Jamdan21, you also have a pentacles card, The Knight of Pentacles.
When this Knight appears, things generally have come to a bit of a halt. At best, things are moving very slowly. You may feel that you are at a crossroads right now, and are unsure which direction to take. This is not a card that advocates doing things in a hurry, so if you need to research all your options, now is a good time to do so. Because Pentacles govern money, it may be that you are considering something that might be costly -going private, for example, or non essential but important -to you- surgery. If that is the case, make sure your finances are all in place and that you can afford it.
This card can also indicate that someone is in a bit of a rut -if you have been doing the same thing for ages, this card asks us to switch things up a bit -regarding health this could be as simple as trying a different class at the gym, or taking up a new form of exercise you hadn't previously considered.
This card says there isn't much to worry about, but perhaps just do an inventory -check in with yourself and see if you're happy with where your health currently is.

@CharlestheBold Your request was a little cryptic: 'A man of retirement age, new career, I have ideas.' I'm not sure what to make of that.
I pulled three cards to give myself an oversight and they were the three of Swords, The Hermit and the two of Cups.

If your 'idea' is to do with inserting yourself into an existing relationship, or one that you have in your sights, (indicated by the two of Cups) these cards are saying: Absolutely Not. Drop any plans you have like a hot potato as they will cause untold heartache to you or the person you have your sights on. The three of Swords is the card of heartbreak, and also the card that comes up when people meddle in existing relationships -there are three swords buried in the heart on the card, after all.

Absolutely no good will come of any plans you may have. The Hermit could not be a clearer indication that you need to retreat, and have a rethink about what plans you do have. It is the card that advocates self-reflection, and seeking guidance to find a better way to proceed.

I pulled a further card to see what would happen if you persisted with your ideas despite the warning that the cards are sending and it was the nine of Swords. A person sits up in their bed with their head in their hands. It is the card of sorrow and desperation. Either you or someone else would end up extremely unhappy as a result of your actions. Please rethink.

PracticalTarot · 12/02/2025 10:40

@BatshitCrazyWoman Your enquiry was also about health - and your card is the 9 of Cups.
Congratulations -this card is a great one to see in matters of health, as it represents a state of physical and mental well being. If you are currently well, expect to continue in the same vein. If you have been dealing with health issues recently, this is a card that says you are nearly there -as 10s in the Tarot indicate completion, 9s are there to tell us that we are approaching the end. There is a warning against complacency, however -this card tells us not to backslide into bad habits like falling off the wagon or relaxing on the regime, as it may undo all your hard work. If you are waiting for results from diagnoses -this says that the outcome should be positive.
By the looks of it, you have very little to worry about, which I hope is a relief. Well Done!

@PracticalTarot thank you very much

PracticalTarot · 12/02/2025 11:05

@Bignanna You asked about Health and emotional wellbeing.
The card I have for you is The Hanged Man.

This card usually appears when we feel in limbo about something -we may be waiting to see what the outcome will be. You may feel tied up in knots about a situation, but this card tells us that things aren't anywhere nearly as bad as we may assume. If we have whipped ourselves up into a bit of a state over something, this card tells us to relax into it, try and go with the flow a little. Things are rarely as bad as they seem when we overthink.

If you can, this card asks us to try a new perspective on our health, such as alternative medicines or holistic approaches. There is an element to the Hanged Man that implies that we may have chosen to be in this state -insofar as we have a certain amount of control over many aspects of our lives, sometimes we enjoy a little wallow. If we can get ourselves into the contorted state the figure on the card is shown in, we should also be able to find a way out of it. It very much implies that we have power, choice and autonomy in our situation.

This is a card that links the body and the mind, which tells us very much that one controls the other -'a healthy mind in a healthy body'. Stress, anxiety and emotional turmoil all take a toll on our bodies. It is also a card that advocates patience -things may take a little time to get moving and flow in the direction you would like, but flow they eventually will.

@loopyluloopy You asked about marriage, and the card I pulled for you is the 6 of Wands. A figure rides on a horse through a crowd, with a laurel wreath on their head and the staff they are carrying.

This is a card that shows a very public success. It can talk about the outward facing side of something -the front we put on for the world, our family, friends, community. If this is an existing partnership, we may be projecting something quite different from reality in order to save face. We may have hidden aspects of ourselves or others that we are ashamed to admit publicly. It can speak of the need for recognition of our achievements - if we have gone through a hard time and suffered or even martyred ourselves, this can be the card that represents an inward pat on the back that we need to give ourselves in order to continue.

It can also imply that the outward trappings of the situation may have become a little too important -this is the card of keeping up with the Joneses. We need to ask why the recognition is important to our sense of self.

If the marriage is yet to happen, then this card talks about the need to publicly recognise that. It can mean that aspects of the wedding have become very (too?) important. This is the card of the potential Bridezilla, and the warning is to reign it in a bit - the people on the card are not actually looking at the figure on the horse, they are gazing elsewhere.

I pulled another card to see if it would add context, and it was the 8 of Pentacles. Whatever your situation, this is the card that tells us to not give up, to keep working towards our goals. It can speak of boredom in a situation, and finding a way through that. It asks us if we are dedicated to the task in hand in and of itself. If all the trappings were taken away tomorrow, would you still want to continue with this particular person by your side?

@Touty You asked about career/work/direction and the card I have for you is The Chariot.

When this card appears in a reading, we are being asked to examine our sense of determination, ruthlessness and sense of ambition. The rider in the Chariot on the card has no reins, he governs his path purely through willpower and grit.

So this is what is being asked of us here -the card appears at times when we need to really double down and work hard. This is the card of people who tell you that they lived in a skip and ate nothing but tinned peas for five years while they saved for a mortgage. Of course, I jest, but there are sacrifices to be made with this card. You are being motivated to work towards a clear goal -on the card you have already crossed the river separating you from the city, so your feet are already on the path.

The next choice that needs to be made is the direction of travel. As well as self determination, the Chariot is also about choice. The imagery on this card is all about duality - black and white, male and female, the conscious and the unconscious. We are being asked to put aside all distractions and focus solely on what it is that will move us to the next square on the chessboard.

I suspect that you know already which direction you wish to travel. I had a quick peek at another card, which was the 3 of swords -is it possible that your indecision is linked to the fact that it may involve disruption to another person or situation, and that you feel that you don't know whether the potential upheaval is worth it?

PracticalTarot · 12/02/2025 12:04

@TY78910 You asked about relationships, and work. I pulled two cards -the first, for relationships, is Judgement.

This card normally arrives at the end of a cycle. In the Tarot, it is the penultimate card of the Major Arcana. It comes at a time of reevaluation. It is the card of a spring clean, a new start. You are being asked to evaluate your existing situation to see if it still works for you. It asks us to put aside assumptions and old habits, and start anew. It can indicate that you may need to look at the dynamics of a relationship and see if it is working as well as it ever was. These are not always easy talks to have with oneself as they require a level of honesty and introspection that not everyone is comfortable with. However, in order to move on, they are necessary.

The card regarding work is the Ace of Swords. This is a card that governs success, and also new beginnings. It is a card that advocates clear thinking and incisive decisions. It may reference a new job, or role move, or shift in working patterns. It asks you to use your intellect, and that any need for deep thought will seem clear and easy for you. If you suffer from muddled thinking or indecisiveness, this card says that you will find it simple to achieve things that had previously seemed impossible. If you are studying, this is a sign that understanding new principles and ideas won't trouble you in the slightest.

@GoldVermillion You asked if your eldest child will be ok, and the card I pulled for you is the 5 of Wands. This cards asks us to step back from the situation a little in order to evaluate it better. It may seem that there is a lot going on, you may have had a lot of interventions, whether they are medical or social, and everyone has a different opinion as to how best handle the matter.

The card can show disagreements, even arguments between people. The trick is to work out whose opinion is worth listening to, not just the people who shout the loudest. I feel that this card can arrive when people are dealing with the terrible teen years. I pulled a few more cards and they were the 5 of Swords, the King of Wands, and Temperance. This would indicate that if the question regards medical issues, that advice from people in authority should be listened to, even if the proposals seem radical. If the issue is more behavioural then it would seem that there is a particular trigger person here, indicated by the King, and that your role is Temperance, the peacemaker. I kept pulling cards to answer you Yes or No, and sometimes Tarot plays a weird little trick where it makes it impossible to find a straight answer, and then it becomes meaningless to ask further.

When this happens, I suspect that the outcome is unfortunately uncertain -you are still in the thick of it, and the end is not yet in sight. The Card of Temperance does show me that you have the fortitude to withstand it, however.

@Haribo16 You asked about your career, and the card I pulled for you is the Hierophant.

He governs all forms of teaching, and so can show up in a reading when people are thinking of going back into education in some form or another, either in a teaching role themselves or starting a degree, a course, or even training at work. He represents mastery over any given subject, so the advice here is to pay attention, listen carefully, and take any opportunities for advancement that come your way. Read everything you can about the subject, seek out people who can help you and ask them about their experiences,

He can represent a mentor, anyone who is experienced and able to share their wisdom. He suggests that collaboration with colleagues is a good idea, a pooling of knowledge.

In a slightly less exalted way, he can represent the glass ceiling, obstacles and people who stand in the way of advancement. He is very much a stickler for rules, and wants every i dotted and t crossed. He can be someone who gatekeeps knowledge and actively gets in the way of your progress, so be aware if that is the case and try and find your way around them.

@PracticalTarot Thank-you so much my first ever tarrot card reading and it's pretty spot on. I really appreciate it 💐

PracticalTarot · 12/02/2025 12:55

@MuddlingThroughLife You asked if your health is going to deteriorate and the card I pulled is the 7 of Cups. That is very much a card of mystery, so the answer for now is -nobody knows.

It is a card that warns against seeking out quackery as a solution, so while investigating other forms of treatment is all well and good, the solution may be the one that requires you to bite the bullet, even if it is the least appealing option. It also reminds us not to get too hung up on the smaller niggles if there is a bigger problem at hand.

I see this card arise a lot with people who have health anxiety as it can indicate that there is an element of searching for things to worry about. Apologies if this is not relevant to you -I certainly don't mean to make light of a situation or disregard your concerns, but I see it with people who believe there to be, if only they could find it, the magical solution to their problems.

I pulled another card hoping for something less ambiguous and it is the 2 of Pentacles. This is the card that is the essence of 'up and down, and up again' so perhaps the answer is that you will enjoy periods of respite amongst the bad, and that learning how to balance the two is the trickiest part of all.

Thanks @PracticalTarot I was expecting a longer wait so thank you very much.

This is really helpful. I probably should have refined my question because the cards are correct really, my eldest is never going to "be ok" as in have a simple and smooth life, as they have significant autism and find life a great challenge. The current issue that was at the top of my mind when I posted relates to their gender identity and what path is best to follow for someone with such vulnerabilities as they have. The advice to listen to medical expertise on the matter is sound.

I think my role as Temperance is one I have long adopted as a parent so that bit is spot on!

PracticalTarot · 13/02/2025 10:22

@memememe You asked if your relationship is a long term thing, and the card I have for you is the three of Wands.
Threes in Tarot are interesting because they are all about building on the start that was made in the 2s. In the two of wands, a man stands, looking out into the distance. He holds a globe in his hand. It is about having the courage to start new adventures.

In the three, the man looks out over a sea where the ships he has sent forth are disappearing into the distance. This card is about committing to plans and getting them underway. It indicates that you have reached the point where you are considering where the relationship is going. You have put down a solid foundation and clearly like your partner, so what this card is asking is what direction do you want to take? How much commitment would you like? It is about planning and contemplating the next steps.

The card can come up when we feel that we are at a crossroads. Between the beginnings of the 2, and the solid foundations ahead in the 4, the Threes are the time when people consolidate what they have, or perhaps decide it's not for them. So while the card can't answer your question directly, it indicates that you have a solid foundation to build on, although it does ask that you look carefully at your feelings and what it is that you want, and if the relationship has the potential to fulfill that for you.
