Does anyone want a tarot card pull?

I need to get my eye back in as I'm planning to get back in the swing of offering readings again in my local area.
I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, so I'm happy to do a few readings on here, because you'll be helping me just as much as I may be able to help you.
I should point out that my readings are not based on any psychic ability; I believe that each card contains multitudes and that normally a topic is discovered through back and forth during a reading, so forgive me if these seem a bit dry. If you could give me an area to focus on I'd be obliged, as with just a single card pull there's not always a huge amount to go on.
Let's limit it to the first 10 people and we'll see how we go.

What does 2025 have in store for me?

PracticalTarot · 31/01/2025 20:14

@CaraCameleon You asked what the year would look like, and the card I pulled was the 7 of Cups. This is the card that offers abundance -you are spoilt for choice this year. The card shows us a figure being shown seven cups, all containing some form of riches. One of the cups contains a glowing, ghostly figure which appears to be the cup that the person is being asked to choose.

The glowing figure represents alluring fantasies, distractions and temptations that can stop you from making the choice that is most beneficial for you. If you choose wisely, the riches will all come to you easily.

So the card asks us to examine all the opportunities that present themselves -some will make false promises, some will offer you the easy way out, some may offer recognition and wealth. But if you put hard work and effort into everything you do, you will be repaid handsomely. So don't fall for the sweet words, or the easy job or the shiniest trinket, but think what will be best for you.

I pulled another card to see if there was an area that was more in focus than another, and Death was pulled. So, more change. Something radical is due to happen to you this year, something will end, and something new will begin. So be ready.

Thank you so much. That gives me a lot of food for thought. Now I really need to think about what the ghostly cup represents. I am so worried about making the wrong choice, and that preoccupies me! I really appreciate your time and trouble.

@MorrisZapp You asked if you would feel close to your teenage son again. The card I have for you is the 5 of swords, which has shown up a few times already on this thread.

The card can indicate a division. There has clearly been a fight of some sort, some people have thrown down their swords in defeat and walked away. The sky is jagged with a coming storm. It is an unhappy, prickly card, and the victor, although they look pleased with themselves, is standing in a wind that has started to blow. The 5s are all about change, upset, conflict -and because swords represent thoughts and words, it's possible that things have been said in the heat of the moment that are proving difficult to take back. Wounded pride may be an issue. There may be a power imbalance, a sense that someone 'holds all the cards.'

Because I felt that this card was describing a situation rather than giving an answer, I pulled another card. It was the 9 of Pentacles, which is a lovely, reassuring card. She represents a happy and secure home life, with plenty of home comforts. The nines are generally positive cards, as they are the point just before the ten, which represents completion. In some sense, the nines tell us to look back, we are nearly there, completion and success is within our grasp. We need to check that we don't mess this step up before we cross the finish line. If we are ready to continue, and we are sure that we are secure enough to help others, we can extend that hand.

Oh thank you so very much for this xxx

@PracticalTarot I may have been missed. I'd love an advice from the universe as to my career situation as I have been out of work for 7 months and I'm really struggling with finances.

@Threepe The card I have for you is The Chariot. Any of the major Arcana cards tend to deal with the big, broad strokes of our lives while the minor Arcana deal more with the minutiae. So it's no surprise to me that you have asked about your house move and The Chariot shows up. On a fundamental level, the chariot represents moving from A to B. But there is a much more complex side to the card which has to do with issues of free will, choice, balance and harmony.

On the card, the charioteer is driving away from a city. He has already crossed some water, which can represent the point of no return or the feeling that you can't go back when you have come this far. It is a card that tells us we need to harness our inner strength and keep moving forward.

The card is about finding a balance, a harmony, a way of weighing the scales fairly and dealing with everyone equally. Sometimes this can manifest itself as a heart vs head situation, or it might be a time when you are at loggerheads with a partner, or family. You have to see everyone's point of view. It can be maddening, and you might believe yourself to be the only one in the right, but this card is asking you steer your own chariot straight and true through opposing opinions to find the safe path.

Hi practical tarot, thank you very much, I appreciate that you took the time to do this.

PracticalTarot · 02/02/2025 18:26

@anonymous98 You asked about your love life, and that you had been single for a while now (although you are still so young!) The card I have for you is the four of pentacles.

The first question I would ask you to think about is -what have you not got past? This card is very much about holding on and not letting go. That can indicate that you are not fully over a past relationship -it can mean that you are very wedded to the positive memories of that relationship and may have glossed over the less favourable attributes your partner may have had and rose-tinted the whole situation. It's the card of placing an ex on a pedestal and measuring everyone else up against those impossible standards.

It can also mean that perhaps you were treated awfully by them and subsequently haven't been able to fully trust again, and are subconsciously avoiding romantic relationships, or sabotaging them so you don't get hurt again.
Either way, the card is telling you to let go.

The fours in tarot are all cards that are very set. They need a push to get them over into the disruption of the fives. So the suggestion that they make is to do things a bit differently -approach things in a different way, get out of your comfort zone, shake things up a little bit. Whether that means dating people you wouldn't previously have considered, joining a hobby club, going on a singles holiday... the choice is yours. But the impetus to meet someone is only going to come from within you -unfortunately this isn't the card of the meet cute -your eyes won't necessarily meet enticingly as you both reach for the last danish in the coffee shop, but with a little extra legwork from you, they just might.

@user1471467504 You asked about the coming year and the card I have for you is the two of swords.

In heraldry, two swords up means you are ready for a fight, so bring the battle on. But the woman on this card doesn't seem antagonistic -she is balancing two swords in crossed hands over her heart. But she is also blindfolded -perhaps she doesn't want to face whatever reason she has for holding the swords in the first place? She seems ready for battle should it come to her, but she would really rather not face it. The blindfold can also symbolise being in the dark about a situation which will be uncovered in time.

So this can be the card that says being prepared for whatever might be approaching is no bad thing. It also talks about balance -in this particular scene it must be exhausting to maintain such a difficult position with such serenity -her arms must be killing her. The sea behind her is calm -for now. But until she removes the blindfold and puts down the swords she won't find that out for herself.

I think what the card is telling you is that ultimately whatever happens this year cannot be avoided. But you need to refuse to be in denial about the possibility that you might need to come out fighting, so make sure you get rid of the blindfold as soon as you can.

@Camparispritzandcrisps You have asked about your career, and the card I have for you is the six of pentacles. This card indicates that either you are in a position to be given a job, or that you might be hiring yourself. If you are the one being hired, this card is quite explicit about making sure that you are not just taking the crumbs from someone's table. It reminds us to look around, make sure that we are being treated equably with others, haggle for a better deal, better conditions, better pay. A job may look great on the surface but be wrapped up in a load of flim flam that doesn't amount to much other that you having to do more to earn it.

Conversely, if you are the one doing the hiring, be very clear to yourself and others about what a job entails.
Ultimately pentacles are about finances, financial security and investments, so don't be surprised if it means a pay rise for you. If not, it can also refer to being asked to share -part time, job share, skill sharing, merging of resources -all those sorts of things are covered by this card. Your talents will be in demand -but share them responsibly!

@ssd Your card is the eight of cups, and this is the first time this card has come up since I started these readings.

All the eights represent a time of change and opportunity. The 8 of cups tells us that it is time to walk away and forge a new path. You may have made great progress in the past, but it has just not worked out for you. This card tells us that your heart is no longer in it, that you have flogged a dead horse for long enough and now it is time to move on with your journey.

On the card, a figure walks away from eight full cups. Whatever those cups hold is no longer enough for you, and you are setting out on a new adventure. There is a stream between the cups and the figure -he is figuratively already on another path and couldn't go back easily if he tried.

This card can often talk about a spiritual awakening -a need for more. This can come around by examining the self -troubles and issues that need to be addressed are indicated by the looming mountains which look as though they will have to be tackled sooner rather than later. Sometimes the mountains can represent other peoples expectations of you -they will have to be overcome, but in your own time and at your own pace.

@Sunshinekim You asked whether you should stick out your new job or move. The card I have for you is The Hanged Man.

This card can be seen to represent sometimes just that -hanging around. There can be a sense of frustration at waiting for our circumstances to change. But in the picture on the card, our man doesn't look uncomfortable -quite the opposite -he seems quite at ease with his current position and is hanging upside down quite calmly.

So the message he mostly brings us is to go with the flow. Don't force anything just yet. There are echoes of Odin sacrificing himself on the World tree in order to gain enlightenment in this card, which says wait -and watch. You might be in a state of limbo. You might not be able to move forward just yet.

You can't return to the way things were -the card before this one is Justice, who asks us to make a measured decision. The card in front of the hanged man is Death, which speaks of change and transformation. So right now, you are where you are. And that's just fine. But don't waste the opportunity that you have here, in the beautifully tranquil state. Gather knowledge, and think.

If it's still ok to ask for a reading can i please have one also, around my immediate family. No worries if you gave too many to do already

@PracticalTarot thank you for this, I really appreciate how generous yiu are being with your time.

I am currently coming to the end of a secondment and returning to my original team. I was only with them four months before getting this temporary promotion so part of me is feeling like I owe them something but I also really want to progress so should feel guilty about going for things that will get me there!

I am also only looking at internal roles (large department) but I know really that I should be looking externally as well. Holding back and being unsure isn't going to get me a better role!

Hello again.

I realised in my previous post I didn’t give you an area to focus on.

If you do have time to do a reading for me I it would be much appreciated and suppose the focus would be career related - that’s the best descriptor I can give.
