@Beanosaurus You asked about Love, and the card I pulled is Death.
As we have spoken about before on here, Death is not a literal death, but a transformation. It speaks of moving from one state to another. Change is coming, whether you like it or not. Death tells us that Night follows Day, the sun rises and the sun sets, and the world continues to turn, no matter what we do to try and stop it.
So this card, when referring to love, can mean the end of something. But ends are also beginnings, which should be embraced. I pulled another card for you, and that was Judgement. These two cards together are very powerful, and speak even more of an end and a beginning. Together, they ask you to take responsibility, to move forward into the next phase of your life with an open and willing heart. It speaks of spiritual growth, of the end of a long cycle and finally being able to lay a long carried burden down.
All of our lives are made up of cycles. Childhood, adolescence, relationships, marriage, careers -all have a natural start and finish. What these two cards together ask us to do is examine our part in them. We must ask ourselves -what did I do wrong? What could I have done better? Could I have done more? This card only asks us to judge ourselves in such circumstances -we must look inward, not outward. Your decision could well be that you could not have done anything better, and that is fine, as long as you answer with an honest heart.
I pulled another two cards, because this is a fascinating set of cards, and those were The King of Cups and The Lovers.
So it would seem that central to this change and transformation is a partnership of some kind. It isn't always a marriage or a romantic partner that it references, it can just be someone who you are in some kind of relationship with (but it's normally romantic -there are other, less emotive cards that deal with platonic relationships). The King tells me that you will need significant emotional resources to navigate what is on the horizon as the cards are showing a potential choice that you may have to make -the Lovers can indicate Marriage in all its forms, and they can indicate separation.
The whole cycle represented here could also be something like changing the state of your relationship, moving up a gear from partners to engaged, or engaged to be married, starting a new cycle with children, or an additional child.
Whichever way you spin it, three Major Arcana cards don't normally come together in a reading unless they really want you to sit up and take notice. So when the change comes, you'll be ready -won't you?
